We were lucky to catch up with Larry. A Davies recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Larry. A thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?
When the idea came to me to write my first novel THE HOLLOW WALK. Which lead me to write and act in my own web series The Craft on my YouTube channel
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I still work a day job, to feed me while I’m writing my 3rd novel and are in preproduction on my next web series. I’m also a passionate vegan and cat lover. One quote of mine is “Artists with deep souls, will always have a cat (or cats) close by.”
I came to Los Angeles right out of high school to presue acting. Eventually I stopped went to school and coached high school boys basketball and taught.
Then the great recession hit, and teaching dried up along, and I was burned-out on coaching. Then I got a word a that said “God never told you to quit your dreams.”
So I moved back into LA from orange county and started acting again. Covid changed a lot of how things were done in the industry and I lost agents and very quickly lost interest. Then I wrote mu first novel and started my next chapter that I’m on today. I discovered that I’m a really good story teller, and I’m a great actor too
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
It’s so encouraging to independent writers such as my self is to buy their books. Trust me I am so grateful for every sale. And if you enjoy my work, hopefully it moves you to some degree, please give it some feedback, like reviews and social media. It takes very little time, but the artist appreciates it so much.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
To move people emotionally with my stories. To make them consider things and to be entertained by them.
