Larrissa, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
Starting Detroit Flower Wall came about from being able to provide a service/product that was hard to find. I started off hosting women empowerment events in 2017 which led me to getting creative to make props and event decorations for the events. The guest and my friends and family would often ask me to do it for them. I was reluctant at first but over time I gave in and began provided services, I slowly took clients as a side hustle. It was in 2020 I lost my corporate job during the pandemic and I decided to focus on the growth of my business and it began to grow online and by word of mouth.
Larrissa, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
It all began when I realized flower wall were hard to find. It was need in the city and I began to start researching how I could provide the rental service to others. I I provide custom made floral props in the event industry and to other businesses. We focus on experience and creating props that are unique and stand out. We know in todays world it is important for people to capture the moment and share it. We want our props and floral designs to create the ambiance that allows guest to capture the moment.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I’ve always been a socialite outside of social media, As social media marketing grew over the last 10 years I have been able to utilize it to advance in my business. I have learned that people enjoy engaging post, typically something they can relate to or something they would like to relate to. When I market online I focus on connecting with my audience and understanding what they like. I share it in a way that makes people intrigued and want to know more.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
The reputation we have built has been based off of consistency. I truly believe you can build trust with your clientele by showing consistency with your branding, booking process and customer service. We hold ourselves accountable in our business and we have expectations of our clients to have the best experience. Our team is very knowledgeable across broad to help our clients and we try to make sure the process of booking and receiving the product or service is a smooth process.
