Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to LaRon Dewberry. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi LaRon, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about when you first realized that you wanted to pursue a creative path professionally.
I realized I was creative from the very beginning.
My origins were quite unconventional. I was kidnapped at birth, raised by my abductor, and abused on a daily basis for thirteen consecutive years. I was forced to cook and deliver drugs at the tender ages of nine and ten.
At the end of the day, all I had was the stars I would gaze at, hoping for something more, and my singing voice. Singing helped me endure many painful years.
My birth mother eventually found me at the age of thirteen, and that’s how I ended up in New York. I started school for the first time, met other children, and even participated in my very first talent show, which marked the beginning of my musical journey.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
It’s a pleasure to meet you. My name is Laron, and I am a singer, photographer, videographer, and actor.
I was born in Detroit, Michigan, and raised in Rochester, New York.
I’ve been featured in many projects, from Super Bowl commercials to news broadcasts, to theater productions.
Musically, I’ve had my own shows as well as a band, (The Krooks).
These days, I’m focusing more on visual communication.
Camera work has been a long-time passion that I’ve only recently vocalized.
The idea of capturing and preserving genuine smiles, laughter, tears, joy, and other emotions is what keeps me going.
I’m curious to see how far I can take it.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
My childhood, which most describes my resilience, was a unique one.
Growing up partially homeless, secluded, and abused, I always had a different world view.
It was as if I was born on Mars and this was my first time visiting Earth.
With broken fingers, a gashed head, a burned body, and so on, it was hell, but every night as I slept under the stars, I knew something better was waiting for me.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
For me, the most rewarding aspect of being a creative it is the smile And Genuine gratitude, simply for doing what I love to do. Very first time I ever stay on stage Someone told me I changed their life and made them forget what they have been going through that week.
Not only did it, bring the tears to my eyes, but it crafted the reason that I do what I do.
