Today, we’d like to introduce you to Larissa McGowan . Larissa was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Tharren Printup.

Larissa , can you walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My name is Larissa McGowan! A culinary graduate of 2017! I have been dedicated to my baking career since 2017, I started Wake & Cake a few months after graduating from culinary school! It’s definitely been a long ride full of trials and tribulations but I have continued to push through many obstacles to get to where I am now! Before culinary school I did not have a clear idea of what I actually wanted to be, but I always had a passion for baking and once I locked into learning more about it, I fell even more in love and knew that that’s what I wanted to do for the rest of my life!

Please tell us more about your brand, Wake & Cake
Wake & Cake LLC is a custom cake and pastry company! I do everything from simple to extraordinary! The best thing about my cakes are they don’t just look good but they taste good as well! I really take my time and try to perfect my flavor profiles as well as be creative and give my clientele an experience with cake that they can truly remember!

So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Tharren Printup and Top Floor Cuisines and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Top Floor Cuisines.
Where do I start?? Chef Tharren has been nothing short of amazing! His professionalism is out of this world and his exquisite cooking style is something you just won’t experience anywhere else! He is very punctual and on his P’s & Q’s when it comes down to planning and executing the best experience for his clientele. Chef gives you an experience that your tastebuds will forever remember and his beautiful set up gives you visuals that you can capture and keep for a lifetime! Everytime you see a photo or video from a Top Floor event, you will definitely re taste the food! I admire Chef Tharren because he is a self taught chef who created an entire business and team from HIS own hard work and dreams! He is truly a leader & an amazing mentor! He has opened doors for me when other people closed doors in my face! Such a humble young man but definitely worth the hype!
