Alright, LaQuanda thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
“Buying my first home was a transformative experience that came with its fair share of challenges. The moment I held the keys in my hand, I felt a sense of achievement and security that I knew I wanted to help others experience. That’s why I became a realtor with Keller Williams Advantage.
I am driven by the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to own a home, regardless of their starting point. Homeownership is more than just having a place to live; it’s about building stability, wealth, and stronger communities. I take immense pride in walking my clients through each unique journey, overcoming obstacles together, and celebrating the moment they receive their keys.
One of my favorite memories so far is of a young who thought homeownership was beyond her reach. In fact, She was a Manager at Taco Bell. However with determination and guidance, we navigated the complexities, and seeing her joy when she entered her new home was priceless.
My mission is to make homeownership accessible to all, and I am committed to continuing my education and community involvement to serve my clients better. If you’re ready to embark on this rewarding journey, let’s connect. Together, we can turn your dream of owning a home into a reality.”
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I am, a resilient mother of three which consist of two teens and one young adult I truly have had to weather the storms of life, becoming widowed twice at a young age.
Despite adversity, I’ve embraced my role as a single parent, balancing the demands of motherhood while working at the Bus Plant for a decade.
Tragedy struck again when I lost my second husband to Covid-19, prompting me to chart a new course. With determination and tenacity, I transitioned to real estate, finding my calling as a realtor with Keller Williams Advantage. Specializing in guiding first-time homebuyers,
I truly pour my heart into every transaction, ensuring clients find not just a house, but a place they can call home. My passion for my work shines through, as I thrive in helping others achieve their dreams of homeownership. Through my journey, I’ve tried to exemplify strength, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to creating brighter futures for my family and clients alike.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
After losing my second husband to Covid-19, I found myself at a crossroads, battling deep depression while raising my three children alone. The grief was overwhelming, but I knew I had to find a way to support my family. After a decade of working at the Bus Plant, I decided to pursue a new path and became a realtor with Keller Williams Advantage.
The transition was far from easy. Building a business from the ground up while grappling with the emotional weight of my loss was a daunting challenge. There were days when the fear of failure loomed large, especially when the bills piled up and I almost lost our home due to the costs of establishing my real estate career. I often questioned if I had made the right decision, but giving up was never an option.
Determined to succeed, I immersed myself in learning everything about the real estate market. I knocked on doors, attended countless networking events, and reached out to potential clients, all while managing the demands of single motherhood. Slowly but surely, my efforts began to pay off. Each new client has been a testament to my hard work and resilience.
One particular moment stands out. I was working with a young couple who were first-time homebuyers. They were anxious and unsure, much like I had been when I started my journey. Guiding them through the process and seeing their joy when they finally received their keys reminded me why I chose this path. It wasn’t just about making a living; it was about helping others find a place to call home.
Today, I am proud to say that I am continuing to build a successful career in real estate. The journey has been filled with ups and downs, but each challenge has made me stronger and more determined. My children have seen firsthand what it means to persevere, and that is perhaps my greatest achievement.
My story is one of resilience and unwavering hope. Despite the darkest times, I continue to move forward, striving for success not just for myself, but for my family and my clients.
Have you ever had to pivot?
As I embarked on building my real estate career with Keller Williams Advantage, I quickly realized that establishing a consistent client base would take time and patience. The financial strain of starting a new business, coupled with the responsibility of raising three children alone, was daunting. I knew I had to find ways to keep a steady income while pursuing my dream.
By the grace of God, opportunities began to present themselves. I took on various side jobs, from working with The Girl Scouts, to part-time customer service roles, to ensure that I could provide for my family. Each job, though temporary, was a chance to meet new people and potentially gain new clients for my real estate business.
The challenges were significant. Balancing multiple jobs while maintaining my commitment to my growing real estate business often meant long days and sleepless nights. There were moments of doubt, but my faith and determination kept and continues to keep me moving forward. Each new connection I made through these side jobs reinforced my belief that I was on the right path.
One memorable instance was when I helped a couple find their first home. They were nervous about the process, much like I had been about my career pivot. Guiding them through every step and seeing their joy at closing the deal reaffirmed my purpose and passion for real estate.
Through these experiences, I learned that every challenge is an opportunity in disguise. The need to pivot and adapt taught me resilience and provided invaluable opportunities to grow my client base. Today, my real estate career is thriving, and I look back on those challenging times with gratitude. Each pivot was a step towards building a successful and fulfilling career, allowing me to serve my clients with empathy and dedication.
My journey is a testament to the power of faith, perseverance, and seeing every challenge as a potential blessing. Despite the obstacles, I continue to move forward, striving for success and helping others find their dream homes.
