We recently connected with L’Aqua Asberry and have shared our conversation below.
L’Aqua , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
We love to show our customers appreciation. We have customers that have ordered so many items. To show our appreciation we like to add random custom items in their package. We also keep in contact and post about them on our website or social media. Recently, for of or biggest spender we gave her two custom embroidered shirts with their logo. We really show our customers that we appreciate them when we can.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Khaotic Seams is a business that offers a variety of personalized items. However, we are much more than that. Khaotic Seams was created to inspire others. We are confident you will find a custom product that you will fall in love with or one that will inspire you. Our mission is to create your vision to help you show, find, or remember your passion, no matter how crazy or chaotic it may seem.
The Company’s primary product is custom items: Khaotic Seams personalize items for our customers with their vision. We start with a blank fabric, shirts, socks, phone grips, Keychains, and create the vision.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One lesson I had to unlearn is that is to slow down and have patience. You will get there. When I started I only had fabric and a sewing machine. I felt like I wasn’t doing enough so I bought other machines that would grow my business. Instead I was paying for new material, supplies, and maintenance for those new machines. They are assets but if I would have taken my time to purchase each separately I would have seen a better result.
Any advice for managing a team?
One thing I also do is make sure I am the employee or team member I want to them to be. Lead by example and make sure everything you know you pass to your members. One that helps when training someone is telling them why. If something is needed to be completed a certain way, telling them why will help them to have a better understanding on the process. Listening to your team is very important. Never look at them as just someone else on the team. Let them know how much you appreciate and give them updates of their growth.
