We were lucky to catch up with LaNise Thrasher recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, LaNise thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s talk legacy – what sort of legacy do you hope to build?
My ultimate goal is to leave a legacy that demonstrates to others how accepting Jesus and really submitting to His will for your life will change your life in unimaginable ways. I hope that everyone who reads or hears my story will be inspired to seek out God.
Additionally, I want my brand The Love Cheerleader® to be a household name that represents how to heal smart not hard after heartbreak.

LaNise, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is LaNise, I live in Atlanta, GA and I am an Author, Speaker, Heartbreak Coach and Founder of The Love Cheerleader®. The Love Cheerleader® was developed as a response to two devastating events: divorce and breakups, which are kept quiet and don’t come with instructions on how to proceed. I personally witnessed this in 2014 as I went through my own divorce.
After rolling up my sleeves and doing the necessary work, I not only recovered from heartbreak, but I also developed an evergreen method to transform women and men from defeated and broken to powerful and confident.
After creating this system, I soon became known as the “go-to” coach for people who needed help adjusting to this new phase of life.
I launched The Love Cheerleader® in 2020, and I am extremely proud of the transformations that I have been able to witness in my clients. After experiencing heartbreak, hearing a client declare, “I love who I see in the mirror,” is definitely a blessing.
Since starting my business, I’ve also had the chance to talk on a number of virtual stages, became an author, appeared on a billboard in downtown Atlanta, created a course, created ebooks and delivered speeches at live events. Most recently, I was also featured in a Dutch online magazine. I consider it a great blessing that God enabled me to use my suffering for good and show both women and men that overcoming loss is possible.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
My strongest sources of new clients have been social media and word of mouth. I’m really appreciative that people trust my work enough to spread it throughout the world, as both channels have opened up a lot of new opportunities. I consider it a wonderful blessing to be able to assist others through their healing journey.

How did you build your audience on social media?
When I made the decision to launch my business, I knew that I had to be active and network on social media. While I wasn’t 100% sure what would resonate with my audience, I was very consistent everyday on Instagram. When Instagram shifted to Reels, I took the leap into creating this form on content and the results were incredible. Not only did I enjoy creating this content, I had tremendous growth.
If you are new at social media, the best thing you can do is get clear on your message, find the platform that works for you and stay consistent. Lastly, be kind to other content creators. You never know who is willing to collaborate with you and want nothing in return.
