Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lanese Holloway. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lanese, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Can you share a story with us from back when you were an intern or apprentice? Maybe it’s a story that illustrates an important lesson you learned or maybe it’s a just a story that makes you laugh (or cry)?
I used to intern for GL (Girls Life) Mag in college. It taught me a lot actually. The most memorable experience was going into the office and seeing the patience and consistency it took in order for an article to be published on time and with perfection! I’ learned that when you have a vision and you want to create the best you have to be the best! I would listen to the voice audios and the thorough questions asked during the interview would have you like wow! Jojo Siwa was my favorite! To be apart of that and to see her flourishing now is just amazing because the image we painted of her through the interview and the article showed that her future was bright!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Hello my INSPIRATORS!
Some of you may know me and love me, some of you will grow to love me as you get to know me!
I personally love you already either way!
I am La’Nese the CEO of Shantel Inspired. Shantel Inspired is a organization I created for mental health. Growing up I always felt like my strength was different. I never wanted to believe the “It doesn’t skip generations” saying. So I didn’t. I worked through a lot of my mental health issues alone. Now in the beginning it gets tricky because your like how am I gonna help me right? Lol. It was a process that took patience, a lot of self love quotes…and many tears. When I had finally reached a point of peace and happiness. I knew I had mastered my emotions! I knew how to skate through situations in life without allowing myself to reach a point where life could get crazy and I would need medication to sustain my day to day life.
Shantel inspired is committed to helping and teaching Women and Men ways to get through the toughest situations in life. It starts with you, growing and learning to become your best self!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
As crazy as this sounds I had to unlearn the definition of strong and fearless taught in a home growing up. My new thing is vulnerability I’m gonna cry, scream, run, and even lay in bed for a day. I’m gonna allow myself to feel whatever feeling I need to feel. If I don’t feel the emotion I’ll never learn how to over come it. I quickly quickly learned that going through transitions in life as I got older and had to do things on my own.
Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
I definitely wouldn’t trade this for anything. I love the mind, it’s powerful. Our mind can either be a friend or an enemy. I enjoy teaching people to create a friendly mind. It’s necessary! It holds the key to your success because if mind says “I can’t” then you won’t. So even when I get a little over whelmed I just remember my purpose! “Creating a friendly mind”.
