We recently connected with Landy Valencia and have shared our conversation below.
Landy, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I feel like you have to learn from your mistakes and failures, to get back up and keep moving forward. You’ll learn to not give up and understand that little set backs help build you to become successful. There’s a lot of people that give up on their dreams because of minor set backs. But in reality success doesn’t happen over night it takes time.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
It all started in 2018 when I decide to enroll in Aesthetics school after being a medical assistant for 10+ years, I finally realized that it wasn’t what I wanted to do anymore, with the support of my husband I was able to go full time. I knew then that I wanted to open up my own business. It’s been about 4 years in the beauty industry and counting. I love what I do and continue to grow. I love this field because it is always growing and changing. I specialize in lash extensions, but I also offer other beauty services like, waxing, lip blush, BB Glow, Lash Lift and Brow Lamination & tinting. I’ll continue to improve and add to my knowledge to provide the best service for my clients. I never did I think I would be here now four years later, but I took the risk and made my dreams into reality, that’s how LV Beauty was created and became a small business. I am most proud of that I’m the first generation of my family to graduate high school, opened my business and continuing my education. I am currently working on my bachelor’s in science of business administration at Southern New Hampshire University. I am passionate about what I do that is why I am continuing my education. Never give up on your dreams.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Your clientele will be your walking models and are the ones that referral other people over to you. Word of mouth is what helped my business grow as well social media, posting and sharing my work with my followers helped boost my clientele even more.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
I would boost my photos and target people around the area that helped boost my followers and my clientele, as well family and friends that shared my page and pictures of my work to help gain followers and likes. You have to be active on social media. I know at times it can get stressful but being creative and finding ways to catch your potential client’s attention will pay off. It is a platform where you definitely are able to use to your advantage to get your business out there be known and bring in more clients.
