Landon, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a Residential Loan Officer with Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation. A true blessing is how my story with Fairway got started. I used to serve tables at a breakfast joint. One morning, I was dropping off a check for a lady and she handed me her business card and offered to meet for coffee to learn more about what she does. We ended up chatting for over two hours and she had a detailed plan for how I would grow with Fairway and her team. I started off as a Business Development Specialist and worked my to becoming a loan officer. I am passionate about helping people get to where they want to go. Weather you are a young couple buying your first home or an investor looking to buy their 10th, I am always honored to assist clients with their home purchase. My goal is to not only get you into your new home, but to also educate you on the investment you are making and how you can turn home ownership into generational wealth. With that, I find myself helping first time home buyers the most. I am well versed in down payment assistance programs which is a huge help many people do not even know is available. I understand that buying a home is one of the biggest purchases many will have in their life so it is my goal to make that experience stress-free!
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
“Shoe Dog” by Phil Knight has made a lasting impact on my mindset. The founder of Nike, Phil, details the start and build of one of worlds most recognized brands. He writes about how he started Nike and all of the hurdles it took to build one of the most recognizable brands in the world. The book shows you that everyone is fighting through something that no body else knows of. It helps me to stay motivated when everything seems to be going wrong. Overall, there is a lot of good lessons that you can apply to your work and life.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
Getting involved in my local community! I am a huge advocate for building your business locally. In an age where everything is online, people crave face-to-face connection! I co-chair for a local young professionals networking group and am an ambassador for the Lewisville Chamber of Commerce. This allows me to connect with other business professionals on a weekly basis. Almost all of my business comes from the connections I make and foster through networking!
