Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Landen Sill. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Landen , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Who is your hero and why? What lessons have you learned from them and how have they influenced your journey?
My father is my hero. He has always worked very hard to offer me and my family all the opportunities we will ever need. He has taught me a great deal of knowledge and wisdom which has helped me in every aspect of my life including my professional career. He taught me work ethic and skills that I use everyday. Whenever I have questions about how to do something for my company my first call is always to him. He also encourages me to do what I do and to be proud of what I am doing. His example is something I strive to emulate. I want to serve and offer others what he offered to me.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I got into the solar industry through my father. He owns a commercial solar company and encouraged me to start up the residential company. We build custom shade structures such as pergolas and carports, and then we install solar on them. Our systems are unique and look amazing. Many homeowners need shade, savings, value, and more and we can help with all of those things all while not breaking the bank or their house. Our systems are quality built and are fun to build and even better to enjoy in your backyard.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Starting a business is a very difficult thing to do and takes time and effort. Throughout my journey I encountered many times where it seemed like I was unqualified and I just did not know how to proceed. This happened a lot and I usually did not know what to do but I would stop and revert back to the basics. I would contact my father who is also my mentor and we would figure our way our of every situation. It is hard but worth it to keep going.
How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
We are a solar contractor and so every time we build and produce a quality product it gives our customers another reason to trust and refer us to a friend. Each happy and satisfied customer helps us to gain trust among people throughout Utah and elsewhere.
