We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lana Moon. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lana below.
Alright, Lana thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Being a business owner can be really hard sometimes. It’s rewarding, but most business owners we’ve spoken sometimes think about what it would have been like to have had a regular job instead. Have you ever wondered that yourself? Maybe you can talk to us about a time when you felt this way?
Lana, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
The Honey Pot Energy and Art was voted 2022 Atlanta’s Best Metaphysical Store. THP was founded in 2018 in a small space inside a local market. The space was roughly the size of a walk-in closet and to make life even more interesting there were 4 other metaphysical shops within a 2-mile radius; 3 of them were on the same street. When I set out on this venture, it was my intention to create something that offered the basic items that we all seek and love at the local crystal shops and botanicas but more importantly to have a shop filled with cool and unique handcrafted items that are not so readily available elsewhere. I also set an intention on how I wanted people to feel in the space! We cultivated a high vibrational positive energtic, bright, open, happy, helpful, and cheerful environment… hence THP was born.
The Honey Pot’s goal is to see everyone achieve their heart’s desire whatever that may be.
We recently added The Honey Pot Collective to our growing business model, The collective is a group of local Artisian business owners that are seeking a like-minded space to sell their hand crafted products. We are proud of the work we are doing in the community in allowing others to reach their goals of budding entrepreneurship. I am working on a masterclass and book for those interested in starting a spiritual-based business, the book will be one of the most comprehensive books available including a 2 page list of unique vendors, it is scheduled for release in mid-October.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Recently, we had to make the tough decision to close our store in Hapeville, GA. It was a difficult decision to make because of the time, effort, and resources that were put into the store. However, this allowed us to refocus on our brand’s mission and reimagine its purpose for the community we are serving.
The Honey Pot Energy & Art center started off as a way to present tools to those interested in spiritual living. As time has evolved we are now putting more focus on educating consumers on the methods and modalities of spiritual living and the importance of reconnecting with others, as well as providing the tools that naturally complement living metaphysically.
We are now pivoting towards a new future by putting our energy into our Little Five Points location and our Healer’s Village Venue in East Atlanta. This allows us the natural ability to educate consumers as well as provide them with the metaphysical allies that help improve our spiritual experience.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The greatest lesson that I have had to unlearn is living in a cause-and-effect reality. All our lives we are taught to react to life and make decisions based on the results that we are receiving. What I have learned is that we are all conscious creators of the reality that we want. And that reality is only actualized when we first conceptualize what we want within our mind.
We can’t create what we want from who and where we currently are. We have to go into our imagination, create a new existence in our minds and detach ourselves from what we see until what is in our mind becomes our reality.
What we see now is a past actualization of what we thought days or years before. So you have to detach from what you see to create something new.
