We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lamont Renzo Bracy. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lamont Renzo below.
Alright, Lamont Renzo thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with a story that highlights an important way in which your brand diverges from the industry standard.
As the founder of PMB (ProMediaBank), I understand the art of entertainment in a different realm than most conglomorates. I understand that the cookie cutter formula of how a celebrity is made, isn’t what is going to last. The entertainment industry as we know it is a Foogazi, (a make belief world that is built on clout and click bait). Instead of playing to the norm, we at PMB take the approach of giving well deserving, hard working, and ground root artist the opportunity to take the stairs, opposed to the elevator to success. As we are all aware, the organic way of building a fanbase, playing gigs, and creating an organic connection with fans is obsolete, however; we believe in doing things the right way!
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
As a journalist and business owner, I have learned and found that the music industry is smoke and mirrors. I do believe the vibe of the 80’s will return when musicians were hungry and pure in their intentions to deliver art that was admired by fans. The music we recieve today seems rushed and without merit. The art of songwriting and delivering an entire quality project is out the window.
My journey to present involved a lot of “No’s”! To be exact, I had to create a lane for myself by creating my own platform. As a entertaInment proffesional, even my pitches and suggestions were denied due to my lack of financial power. The business is pay to play, and even a seasoned professional has to play the game. When you are at the point of no return, you will find a way.
Can you tell us the story behind how you met your business partner?
Meeting my business partner Keith Youngin George II, was quite interesting. We shared the same story of being rejected in the music business. Even though we had over 20 years working as execs’, we were denied opportunities or not given a chance to be a part of some of the biggest ventures. From that, we decided to team up and create a platform that would cater to the injustices we felt we endured.
