Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lamont 4real Wallace. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Lamont 4Real, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I knew back around 2004 that I wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally. I was working at Lowe’s in Las Vegas, NV and knew I wanted to do something more with my dancing skills and talents. I was able to connect with a co worker that introduced me to some local dancers the next day. That was the Big Bang moment for me, from there I went to street performing, to being in a Las Vegas variety show, performing various gigs across the city, teaching at Las Vegas dance studios, schools and even dancers from UNLV.
Later on around 2013 I began to venture into another path and found the love and passion for DJ’ing. Because of dance background and ear for music, my skills and talents took me to DJing dance events around the United States. I have DJ’ed for Redbull, World of Dance, Battle Of The Year, Neon Fusion Concept and even performed in Australia. My sound and style even lead me to being booked at clubs and venues in Las Vegas like Commonwealth, We All Scream, Beauty Bar, Vanguard, Gold Spike, and Caesar Place! I’m still currently traveling the USA DJing and Dancing at various venues and places.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I got into the artistic industry because I have a super passion for music and dance. I knew I had a special ear for music. I always want to be on the dance floor giving energy and exchanging with others or behind the turntables and providing the experience for those in attendance.
On a deeper level, I provide private lessons, instructional videos through my Patreon, custom mixes and edits, merchandise and creative content that I share and sell.
What sets me a part from others is my unique sound and style on the dance floor and on turntables. I bring the old and new and fuse them creatively for all generations.
I am most proud (really thankful and grateful) for my journey. I have put in countless hours into my skills and talents, and it has been taking me to places I didn’t even know it could. Even my 3 daughters witness and experience so much with me, and to see them joyful and smile at me and supporting me in these moments is something special that I hold close to my heart. I not only share my experiences with them but also teach and share with them of what I experienced and have learned along the way.
I want the potential clients/followers/fans to know the love, passion and energy I have for my artistic skills/talents and that every event I am booked for, every fan/follows I receive is absolute pleasure and honor. I will remain professional and always put my best foot forward. I have years of experience behind me and I’m still learning and growing within my artistry. I know I am an asset, an energy and a light that will continue to shine on others. My name and brand 4Real is not just who I am but what I share.
How did you build your audience on social media?
Social media is not just content but also your journey, your story. There is no right or correct way to post. You just have to be authentically be you and share your art. Consistency is key. You never know who’s watching, you never know who you are inspiring. Don’t put your creativity in a box, let it explore and flourish. It’s also a resume to some extent too, but don’t get lost in it with the likes and followers. Just keep creating and building of what YOU want others to see about your art. Also support others, love received is always love given.
How can we best help foster a strong, supportive environment for artists and creatives?
The best ways to support artists is being present (if you can). Expressing how you enjoyed and perceived their art is also a great way of supporting. Talking about how you enjoy their art in other artistic or non artistic spaces is supportive as well. Also following, sharing, liking and commenting on their social media post and platforms is always a huge help with today’s odd algorithm. No matter the artistry, we create and share for the world.
