We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lakeisha Burrows. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lakeisha below.
Hi Lakeisha, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission was forged in the fire, through loss, heartbreak, betrayal, and the crushing weight of having to rebuild a life with nothing but faith, my four children, and a yes to God. But even in the valley, His voice never left me. And now, I’ve been called to lead others out. But in every season, one thing remained: God’s call on my life to rise up and lead other women with truth, boldness, and integrity.
From wife to single mom of four, and from widow to warrior, walking fully in her divine purpose, I am the story, I now help other women rewrite. My pain birthed my purpose.
I work with kingdom women, many already in ministry or leadership, who feel stuck in a silent battle. They’re carrying trauma, navigating identity loss, or facing marital storms, all while trying to show up for everyone else. These women love God, but they’re exhausted. They’ve poured from empty cups and lived behind masks. And now they’re ready to pause, heal, and walk boldly into what God truly called them to do.
I’m passionate about raising up women who don’t just speak Kingdom, but live it. Who don’t perform for platforms, but pursue God’s presence. Who desire purpose over popularity. Women who are tired of living small, tired of dimming their light, and ready to align fully with God’s will for their lives.
I help them silence self-doubt, reclaim their confidence, and align their lives with God’s Word, without compromising their values, voice, or calling. These are women who don’t just want the platform, they want the presence. Women who refuse to water down their faith to be accepted, and who are done shrinking to make others comfortable.
I don’t just mentor them, I see them. Because I was them. And now, my assignment is to lead them from pain to purpose, from confusion to clarity, and from survival to full Kingdom impact.
This work matters to me because I was that woman, pouring while empty, powerful but privately in pain, compromising just to keep a happy marriage. Now, my mission is to be the voice I needed when I was silently breaking. And that’s why I do what I do.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m Lakeisha Burrows, better known as, Coach Keisha, Transformational Life Coach, international speaker, author, ordained prophet and the founder of RecovHER Ministry. But before any of those titles, I was a wife, then a widow, and now a warrior/single mother of four who refused to let grief, betrayal, or brokenness define me. I know what it’s like to lose everything and still be expected to show up. I’ve lived the silent battles, the crushing weight of transition, and the wilderness and job seasons. But it was in that very fire that God refined me and gave me a mission: to rise, and lead others into their divine purpose.
My journey into this work didn’t come from a textbook, it came from trauma, surrender, and a yes to God. After losing my husband, I was forced to rebuild from the ground up, with nothing but faith, four children, and a heart wide open to purpose. I discovered that my healing wasn’t just for me, it was to equip other women to rise from the ashes and walk boldly in their calling.
Today, I empower Kingdom-minded women, especially those in ministry, leadership, or entrepreneurship, who feel stuck, silenced, or spiritually exhausted. I help them pause, heal, and rediscover their voice so they can lead from a place of power, not pretense. Through my brand and coaching, I offer biblically coaching program, digital /physical resources, live speaking events, and spirit-led mentorship designed to help women align their lives with God’s Word and purpose.
In addition to RecovHER Ministry, I also run Wealthy Moms Academy, a space for moms who are ready to build passive income from anywhere, using their wisdom, story, and skills. I teach them how to create digital products, market with confidence, and build a sustainable online business that brings freedom, faith, and financial stability. My heart is to see women win both spiritually and financially, because it’s time we stopped choosing between purpose and provision.
What sets me apart is this: I’m not here to perform, I’m here to transform. I don’t coach from theory, I coach from experience. I speak with truth, transparency, and Kingdom authority. I’ve walked through the wilderness. I’ve cried the tears. I’ve rebuilt the life. Now, I teach women how to do the same.
I’m most proud of the women who’ve stepped out of survival mode and into their divine assignment after working with me. They’ve restored their confidence, rebuilt their families, launched their businesses, and rediscovered their God-given identity.
If you follow me or work with me, just know, I’m not here to entertain. I’m here to activate. This is for the woman who knows she’s called to more, and she’s finally ready to walk in it without compromise.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the hardest lessons I had to unlearn was tying my identity to a role, and mistaking that for my purpose.
For years, I believed being a wife, and mother, was my identity. So when life stripped those roles away, when I became a widow, when I had to raise four children alone, when everything familiar crumbled, I was left asking, “Who am I now?” I felt lost, unworthy, not enough, rejected and unseen.
That breaking season exposed a hard truth: I had built my worth around titles, relationships, and doing……..not around who God said I was. I had to unlearn the belief that my value was tied to what I did for others, and relearn that my true identity is rooted in being a daughter of the King, before anything else.
Unlearning that mindset was painful but necessary. It allowed me to discover that my purpose wasn’t in the role I played, but in the call I carry. Now, I help other women do the same, to detach from false identities, heal from life’s blows, and boldly walk in their God-given purpose.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
One of the most defining moments of my life, and my greatest display of resilience, was becoming a widow with four children and no roadmap for what came next.
But what many don’t know is that weeks before my husband passed, I had already made a decision: I was going to choose myself. I was going to live fully for God, no matter what the outcome would’ve been. That bold “yes” to God wasn’t easy, but it was necessary. And it prepared me for what was coming, even though I didn’t know it at the time.
When I lost him, my world fell apart. I was grieving, raising children alone, and silently trying to piece my life back together. I had every reason to shrink, but instead, I started to speak. I began showing up on social media, sharing encouragement, praying for others, and posting words of life, even though I was broken myself. It was like therapy for my soul. Pouring into others helped me heal, and in return, God began opening unexpected doors.
Opportunities to speak started showing up. I wrote my first memoire “Till Death do Us Part-Story of a Broken but not destroyed wife”. Platforms I never sought out began to call me for interviews. And in the midst of my pain, it became clear: this was my calling, to be a coach, mentor, and voice of truth for other women walking through their own valleys.
