We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lakeisha Brown . We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lakeisha below.
Hi Lakeisha , thanks for joining us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
Living in a single-parent home with my mother, sisters and brother taught me a lot about life and the different encounters that I would face on the road ahead. Life showed me encounters such as the birth of a child, the death of family/friends, career challenges, and relationship failures.
However, it introduced me to the chapters that would come into my life to bring forth meaning and purpose to help me navigate the journey I’m currently on. Like so many others, I have a story that helped me develop on my journey of becoming complete.
Reflecting back over the years in my life, I went through different experiences that helped me develop and grow. The experience that really took a toll on me was having to deal with severe depression due to the loss of a dear friend. I was placed in positions that only God could have seen me through in order to gain that completeness within.
I would say the road wasn’t easy, but it took self-assessment, self-reflection, and looking at different perspectives to help me accept my flaws, embrace my past and walking into my future to reach my purpose in the end.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I’m a mother, registered nurse, author, speaker, well-being ambassador, personal support trainer, certified case manager, and motivator who inspires others to become the best you after going through broken life experiences. I’m proud that I have been afforded the gift of helping others and being a role model for my child so that I can leave a legacy for her to walk into.
Through out my journey in life I’ve be blessed to work in the healthcare field, bring forth a book and journal to help others regain focus and move forward in life to become complete. It was thorough self-assessment, self-reflection, and looking at different perspectives that I begin to understand my purpose and operate in it. These are a huge blessings for me in life which I’m truly proud of.
My fist book “Chapters of Completeness” came out o August 13,2019. Just receiving the feedback from others and watching how the book impact others let me know that I was on the right pathway of helping others on their journey of becoming complete. It showed me through the troubling times of the Covid pandemic that this was the blessings that was needed.
From there it pushed me further into writing a journal call “Completeness the Journal” on January 10, 2023. Completeness the Journal allowed me to have that conversation with others and open up about my struggles while helping other with theirs.
It was that conversation that we all long for in life, but sometimes we get scared to share our experiences with others while walking on the journey all by ourselves. It is the questions and answers that we share with others that help us embark on our journey of growth. Birthing conversations that allow us to own our stories and share them with someone else along the way while writing it all down. Growing with purpose and conviction to empower someone else while finding completeness in the end. The art of finding true growth and loving oneself every step of the way.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Going through a period of severe depression and not being focus cause me to work on myself. I experience a lack of motivation, hair loss, weight loss, the ability to concentrate, a feeling of hopelessness, career challenges, unfairness, broken relationships/friendships, and staying stuck in a place of loneliness to move forward in life.
Once I begin to develop a relationship with God and journal on a regular basis, I begin to see what it meant to remove everything in life so that I could clearly hear the voice of God and walk on a pathway without distraction on the journey ahead to gain meaning to the lessons that would come with finding completeness.
Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
If I could go back, I wouldn’t change anything about the healthcare profession I’m in. It gave me the tools I needed to build and embark on the gift of writing. Sometimes we don’t understand why we are put in positions in life, but know there is always lessons you can learn to share with others. It is how the unknown becomes the known so that we can pour into others to evolve on the journey ahead to finding completeness.
