LaKedra, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?

K2’S Dream house was originated by my daughters first initial. Keyloni’ and Ka’Leyah! Dream house came in meaning the house were my princesses can fulfill all their dreams.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

Hello, my name is LaKedra and I started K2’s Dream House from a brainstorming idea that went viral. I was 21 weeks pregnant with my twin daughters, just had to go on maternity leave with my job, and was just wondering how was I going to make my money until I was able to work again. I started to YouTube quick ways to make money and came across “ How to make canvas photos at home”. I went to Michaels and Walmart and got all the stuff I needed to try it and the photo went viral that’s when I started a small business of making photos and blowing photos up for people. I Took this opportunity to come back to what I loved most, which was hair extensions! Before my mom passed in 2019, I tried selling hair but I wasn’t consistent, I just kept losing interest but somehow always found myself back selling pieces of hair.
I’ve researched high and low for the perfect vendor with the perfect price. Now I am 21 years old with that perfect vendor, I was looking for years ago, I’ve found the consistency that I need to motivate myself to never give up, just KEEP SWIMMING. Now I have also add the best HIGH quality Lace glue and Hair products for your weave installs. My lace products are currently viral on TikTok, so we are going into the new year 2023 with many sales. I want to build an empire for my daughters so when they are old enough they will be able to work for themself. This is the house where they can FULFILL all of their dreams.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?

The Best source for my new clients is this young lady name Carrie Snipes, She lives out of town in Florida. Carries is a wig influencer on TikTok and in November of 2022, she purchased my glue just off seeing me on her for you page , by luck she came down my timeline and I commented on her video. Weeks go by of her using my glue, and she did an unpaid promo review on the glue and it went viral. Without her I wouldn’t be in the position that I am in now. She helped me get on the straight road to being Rich off hair glue!

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

A lesson that I had to unlearn and it was a very hard lesson to learn. Do not mix your personal relationships with your business relationships, YOU WILL LOSE EVERY TIME! There was this one time, I let a personal relationship get in the way of business when a person didn’t have everything they needed to purchase and I took what they offered and we set an agreement to do payment arrangements, so much happened during the time of this transaction that I felt like if I never took the small payment upfront I wouldn’t be going through all of this with a family member, just for us to fall out and we will never communicate ever again. So my tip to anyone PROTECT your brand and your money. Do not short yourself, if someone want it they will bring the whole payment upfront! Lastly, Family will be your biggest down fall! Strangers are what will make you rich! Never forget that !
