Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to LaJune Singleton . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
LaJune , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
My risk taking moment was in 2020 when I left my full-time job at the health department in my county during the Covid-19 Pandemic and started working my business LaJune Singleton, LLC full-time. The economy was very uncertain and uncertainty of how long the pandemic would have businesses closed or would potential clients would be open to pay for fitness, health, mindset, nutrition, and wellness services in during a pandemic. I knew most people lived alone, most of their social interaction was at work with coworkers, or not having support that would lead to binge eating, drinking, or both. I wanted to be able to provide support for individuals and offer better/healthier options with food and workouts. People being forced to be home for days, weeks, and months in an unpredictable time is scary having to spend time with yourself, spouse/partner, and kids that they are not used to doing. It turned out well because women needed that outlet of someone to talk to and workout their frustration through fitness,
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

My sister teaching and playing softball with me and being active in track & field, basketball, and kickball. The love of being active led to become an AFPA Certified Personal Trainer in 2010. Not long after becoming a personal trainer, sustained a severe injury to my right knee. Did not realize that injury was going to be life changing completely. Do you think you’d choose a different profession or specialty if you were starting now?
I would choose the same profession again. I was first certified as a personal trainer in 2010 and sustained a knee injury in 2011. I stopped personal training after, I worked jobs in health, mental, nutrition, and wellness with clients. The passion for helping clients in health, mindset, nutrition, and wellness had never left no matter what the job was. I enjoy seeing people success with their health, mental, nutrition, emotions, and physical to live a fulfilling life.
Training and knowledge matter of course, but beyond that what do you think matters most in terms of succeeding in your field?
Personal experiences are helpful in my field. Clients like to see that their coach/trainer can personally relate and understand their weight lose struggles, emotional eating, stress, and unhealthy habits they have developed.
