We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Laidback Lee a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Laidback Lee, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’ve love to hear an interesting investment story – what was one of the best or worst investments you’ve made? (Note, these responses are only intended as entertainment and shouldn’t be construed as investment advice)

The best investment I’ve made has been in myself. There’s nothing better than buying into yourself in my opinion, you challenge yourself to become better and eventually do become better and more confident in everything that you do.

Laidback Lee, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

I’m an artist, I make music and I’ve been doing it for a few years now. I actually got into it because I always felt I was better than the majority of the people I would hear. I decided that I couldn’t act like I could make better music without actually trying to make some so that’s exactly what I did. It was a bit of a struggle at first because I thought I could just jump in a studio and make a big hit but once I found my lane and started getting more comfortable it just started flowing out..

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

My ultimate goal with what I do is to just make the listener feel good when they listen to my music, I want them to get the same feeling I feel when I’m making it, want it to take them to a good place. I just want to make music that is timeless the kind that is played when and wherever and it takes you to a special time and place.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?

The best part about making music for me is it’s a way of self expression, however I’m feeling it’ll show up in my art. You can’t fake how you feel when you make music because it just won’t come out right it won’t feel right so it’s a way of being honest with yourself and I really appreciate that.
