We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lady Raw a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Lady , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you scale up? What were the strategies, tactics, meaningful moments, twists/turns, obstacles, mistakes along the way? The world needs to hear more realistic, actionable stories about this critical part of the business building journey. Tell us your scaling up story – bring us along so we can understand what it was like making the decisions you had, implementing the strategies/tactics etc.
Well of course we all know that the road to success is never easy it definitely has its ups and downs twists and turns. I started rapping between the ages 9 and 10 and from then on I was consistent. I didn’t start taking my music serious until the year of 2017. In October of 2017 something tragic happened I lost my older brother to violence and that situation encouraged me to go harder. Fast forward I signed my first distribution deal with the Label Bentley Records based out of New York and it’s been nothing but greatness since then. I’ve made great music with Hiphop artist such as BowWow, and Soulja Boy I even made it on the billboard in New York City time square I can honestly say this was my way of scaling up.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
My name is Raseanda Brooks my pseudonym is Lady Raw I am a female recording artist born and raised in Savannah Ga. I started off writing poetry and after I realized I can not only write poetry but I can write music as well I decided to pursue my music career. What sets me apart from others is that I’m consistent at what I do and no matter what I always try to go harder. My most proud moment was when I made it on the billboard in New York I knew my hard work was paying off when I discovered I was on the billboard.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Honestly I think when I did the song with BowWow and Soulja Boy that’s when I started getting noticed and more and more fans started reaching out and streaming my music.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing your clientele would be to stay consistent at what you do that’s the only way the people will take you serious. That’s exactly how I grew my clientele/fans.
