We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Lady MAC. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Lady below.
Lady , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Did you always know you wanted to pursue a creative or artistic career? When did you first know?
I have always wanted to be an artist. However, up until recently pursuing a full-time art career seemed impossible. If you’re an artist now days, you also have to be a digital co tent creator- that is intimidating.
Art is more than a hobby, and I’ve spent the last 3 years working towards that goal.
Lady , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My artist tag is Lady Mac. Born in Colorado, now, Tennessee transplant. I have traveled the world painting and finding inspiration.
My philosophy is that the world needs creativity, so I operate under the idea that it’s my job to help people bring their creative ideas to life. I paint large and small scale, residential and commercial.
We provide custom canvas works, wall murals, window art, apparel, you name it. I love a challenge.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I’m just starting the social media journey. I’ve had personal accounts but the social media scene for a small business is a whole new beast.
I have found a lot of useful information, but I’ve also run into a lot of gate keeping. Finding your community and networking with other artists has been an amazing way to build your audience.
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
If you look around, the color in our world is disappearing. Not only are our (American) yards filled with flower less expanses of grass, but our interior and exterior designs have trended towards a monotone pallete.
I believe it’s essiential to mental health have a vibrant life.
However, convenience has taken opportunities for small business owners and artists. It’s a process to commission a work of art, and Amazon pumps out designs based on the works of smaller artists.
By supporting local, or smaller artists you become a part of a colorful community like no other. Chances are you know an artist, or some one who does.
