We recently connected with LaDonna Williams and have shared our conversation below.

LaDonna, appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about the things you feel your parents did right and how those things have impacted your career and life.

My mom is my rock! I’m so grateful and thankful for every lesson she has taught me and continues to do now. We have so many fond memories but what I most remember is that she is ALWAYS there for me no matter what the circumstances. All these years that I lived in NC I never felt far from from her because I knew she was there rooting for me and loving me from a distance. If I needed her, she always made time for me. I know she always got my back. You have no idea how comforting that has been in my life. When I go to my mom with hard decisions I have to make and/or feel confused about what to do, she always listen to all of the alternatives, hear my concerns, and then ask the key question “what do you think you should do?” before offering guidance or advice. That taught me how to think for myself. My mom saw me for who I was, and respected me enough to let me live my own life. That taught me how to be strong and independent. One of her favorite bible versus is Joshua 1:9. She would repeat it constantly when I was younger and still do as I’m an adult now. My mom lives this verse. She never gives up on her health, works hard to be a great Mom, grandma, sister and friend, overcoming a difficult upbringing and encouraging me every single time I wanted to follow a new dream. She taught me how to dream!!! Thank you mom!!! I LOVE YOU beyond words!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My name is LaDonna. I’m a wife (Ivan), mom of 2 boys (Jordan and Tyler) and a dog mom of 2 Cane Corsos (Marley and Nova). Born and raised in Bamberg, SC and now residing in Eastern NC. I’m a balloon artist and the owner of Quirky Innovations. We provide balloon decor for all types of events. From weddings, baby showers, corporate events, birthday parties, you have a reason to celebrate, we’re ready to help you celebrate in style!
I’ve been in business for 2 years now but I’m no stranger to the event decor/balloon industry. I’ve always thrown extravagant birthday parties for my kids and relatives but it was always because I loved being creative and hands on. I need that WOW factor when you come to my events lol.
When COVID hit the world, it made me put my dreams to reality. Losing my sister was a low point in my life and I completely shut down. And in those dark moments, she came to me like, no ma’am, let’s go! Get up and do it! So I did! And I’ve been going strong since then.
Best description of me and my brand is quirky and innovative. (Hence quirky innovations…lol did you catch that 😂). I’m fun, vibrant, love to try new things. And I think my personality shines through my work.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?

Yes. So I want to become a CBA (certified balloon artist) and also open my an storefront space one day.

How did you build your audience on social media?

Honestly, I’m just me on social media. 😂😂😂…I just let my personality shine! I follow and interact with people in my industry, people in my area and it seems I be working so hey…lol
