We were lucky to catch up with LaDonna Walker recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi LaDonna, thanks for joining us today. The first dollar your business earns is always special and we’d love to hear how your brand made its first dollar of revenue.

I work at the Drip Factory in Waynesboro ,Ga .I am a Licensed Cosmetologist but soon I will be a Licensed ( Lady) Barber so I got this gentleman that walked in who wanted their hair cut , I was nervous but , it was a simple cut he wanted a bald head no it may seem easy but you have to ensure that you use the correct tools clippers, trimmer to ensure all hair is off with the cut so it comes out nice and clean but ,after being nervous, I did achieve the cut and that was the first payment I ever received. I was so happy the customer was happy and that’s all that matters .

LaDonna, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My name is LaDonna Walker . I am a Licensed Cosmetologist but by the end of the year I will be a Licensed Barber. I got into the industry when I met my husband and I decided that I would like to branch off into cutting hair also. I most proud of the way I continued to continue going to school while some days it seem impossible I did not give up

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

I have been on Facebook for years but, I gained a lot of followers when my Facebook page turn to a professional page . I posted a lot of hair videos everyday about 4 times a day I gained so many followers. I am over 10’thousand followers today. I would say if you want to be an influencer post every day and make it fun to keep to keep everyone tuned in

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

My most effective way to gain and also grow clients are to promote my hair styles and hair cuts . I always make sure if it’s ok to take pictures before posting but , once I continue to post I notice that where most of my clientele has come from . So I have always made taking pictures a priority.
