We recently connected with LaDonna Lane and have shared our conversation below.
LaDonna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
To me, success is about persistence, passion, and having a clear sense of purpose. It’s not just about achieving a goal but embracing the journey—the ups, the downs, and everything in between. You have to believe in what you’re doing, even when things feel overwhelming, and stay connected to why you started in the first place.
For a small business owner, success also requires adaptability. Trends, challenges, and opportunities change constantly, and being willing to learn, adjust, and keep growing is essential. Most importantly, you need to nurture relationships—whether that’s with customers, supporters, or collaborators. The encouragement and feedback of those who believe in you can make all the difference.
Do you have any stories or anecdotes that illustrate your point or how you developed your view?
Absolutely. One story that always stands out for me is from the early days of Eira Bracelets Bar. I remember spending hours creating pieces for an event I thought would be a turning point. But when the day came, sales were far below my expectations. It felt discouraging at first, but instead of giving up, I chose to see it as a learning experience.
I spoke with visitors, listened to their feedback, and used it to refine my designs and approach. That same day, I met someone who later became one of my most loyal customers. It reminded me that even small connections can lead to meaningful outcomes if you stay committed. That moment taught me resilience, and it’s something I carry with me every time I face a challenge.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is LaDonna, and I’m the founder and artisan behind Eira Bracelets Bar. My journey into handmade jewelry started during a challenging time in my life. After losing my job, I was searching for both a creative outlet and a way to rebuild. That’s when I discovered jewelry-making. What began as a therapeutic hobby soon turned into a passion for crafting meaningful, timeless pieces that resonate deeply with those who wear them.
At Eira Bracelets Bar, I specialize in creating high-quality, handmade bracelets and other jewelry designed to elevate any style. Each piece is crafted with care and intention, blending elegance and versatility so they can be cherished for years to come.
What problems do you solve for your clients, and what sets you apart?
I understand that finding jewelry that feels personal and stylish can be a challenge. My designs aim to solve that by offering pieces that are not only beautiful but also timeless and versatile—whether you’re dressing up for an event or adding a touch of elegance to your everyday look.
What sets Eira Bracelets Bar apart is the heart and personal touch behind every piece. My jewelry is handmade with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring it feels unique and intentional. I’m passionate about creating pieces that allow people to express their individuality and feel confident in their style.
What are you most proud of?
I’m most proud of how I’ve been able to turn a difficult moment into something meaningful—not just for me, but for my customers as well. Every time I hear someone say how much they love wearing my jewelry or how it’s become part of their story, it reminds me why I started and inspires me to keep going.
Another proud moment is preparing for my first expo this March, where I’ll have the opportunity to showcase my work on a larger stage. It’s a milestone that represents not just growth, but perseverance and faith in the journey.
What do you want potential clients or followers to know about you and your brand?
Eira Bracelets Bar is about more than just jewelry—it’s about creating meaningful connections through timeless designs. Each piece is thoughtfully crafted with the intention of being more than an accessory. I want my clients to feel empowered, stylish, and connected to their individuality when they wear my jewelry.
I also want people to know how much I value their support. Whether it’s browsing my shop, wearing my designs, or sharing kind words, it’s that encouragement that has helped me build Eira Bracelets Bar into what it is today. My promise is to keep creating pieces that reflect beauty, care, and authenticity.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building my audience on social media has been a journey of consistency, creativity, and connection. In the beginning, I didn’t have a lot of followers, but I focused on showing up regularly and staying authentic to who I am and what my brand represents. I started by sharing the story behind Eira Bracelets Bar, how I got into jewelry-making, and what inspires my designs. This helped me connect with people on a personal level.
Over time, I learned the importance of high-quality visuals and clear messaging. I made it a priority to showcase my jewelry in a way that highlights its timeless elegance—whether through styled photos, close-ups of the details, or even behind-the-scenes shots of my creative process. Social media gave me a platform to tell the story behind each piece, and I’ve found that people love knowing the heart and craftsmanship that go into my work.
Engagement has also been key. I didn’t just post and wait for people to come to me—I made an effort to interact with my audience by responding to comments, asking questions, and sharing posts from others in my community. Building relationships online takes time, but it’s so worth it.
Advertising has also played a role in growing my audience. I’ve run targeted ads for special collections or sales, which helped me reach new people who might not have found my brand otherwise. Collaborating with influencers who genuinely connect with my jewelry has also introduced Eira Bracelets Bar to a wider audience.
Any advice for those just starting to build their social media presence?
1. Start with authenticity. Be yourself and share the story behind your brand or craft. People want to connect with the person behind the posts—they’re drawn to honesty and passion.
2. Stay consistent. Post regularly, even if you’re starting small. Consistency builds trust and keeps you visible to your audience.
3. Focus on quality. Invest time in creating visually appealing content. Good lighting, clear photos, and thoughtful design make a big difference when showcasing your products or services.
4. Engage with your audience. Social media isn’t just about posting; it’s about creating connections. Respond to comments, answer questions, and show appreciation for those who support you.
5. Use your analytics. Pay attention to what’s working. Which posts get the most engagement? What times of day are your followers most active? Use this data to refine your strategy.
6. Be patient. Growth takes time. Celebrate the small wins—your first 10 likes, your first comment, your first sale through social media. Those milestones are stepping stones to bigger achievements.
7. Experiment with ads and collaborations. If you can, start small with paid ads to reach new people who are likely to resonate with your brand. Partner with creators or influencers who align with your values and can authentically share your work.
Remember, social media is about more than just growing numbers—it’s about building a community that believes in what you do. Stay true to yourself, and the right audience will find you.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
One moment that stands out is when I lost my job. It was one of the toughest times in my life, and I wasn’t sure what my next step would be. But instead of letting that setback define me, I decided to try something new. I turned to jewelry-making as a way to cope and express myself, and it slowly grew into a passion.
When I started Eira Bracelets Bar, there were so many challenges. I remember launching my first collection and wondering if anyone would even notice. I had no big budget, no fancy equipment—just my hands, my creativity, and a belief that I could make something meaningful. Some days felt overwhelming, especially trying to balance designing, promoting, and learning how to run a business on my own. But every time doubt crept in, I reminded myself why I started: to rebuild, to create, and to connect with others through my work.
One specific memory that really tested my resilience was during a holiday sale. I spent countless hours preparing and promoting, only to face slower-than-expected sales. It felt discouraging, but I didn’t give up. I used that moment to reevaluate, listen to feedback, and refine my approach. I kept pushing, and eventually, things started to click.
Looking back, those challenges shaped who I am as a person and a business owner. Resilience, for me, is about finding strength in the struggle and using it to move forward. It’s about showing up every day, even when it’s hard, and trusting that the effort will pay off.
