We recently connected with Ladii Patterson and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Ladii, thanks for joining us today. One of our favorite things to brainstorm about with friends who’ve built something entrepreneurial is what they would do differently if they were to start over today. Surely, there are things you’ve learned that would allow you to do it over faster, more efficiently. We’d love to hear how you would go about setting things up if you were starting over today, knowing everything that you already know.
If I was starting over as an Author from 2011, I would have taken my writing, more seriously. I look back over the past 12 years and say to myself, “wow, I could have been a Best-seller Author by now.” I am awaiting my 7th book to be published and what I did differently just last year in 2022, that I did not do in 2011, is I hired a team of people who could help me in my journey as an Author. I now have a Publicist/Agent, an Author Assistant, a Manager, and a Wardrobe/Makeup Artist. I spend more time, staying positive and focused on being an Author and enjoying the journey.

Ladii, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Ladii Patterson, born Antoinette Patterson, is an Author, a woman of God, a mother, wife, student, and social butterfly with a creative imagination. Ladii realized her potential to become a published Author when she wrote and published her first book “That Which Doesn’t Kill Me, Makes Me Stronger”, in 2011, a book of Poems and Inspiration during a time when her dad passed 3 years prior. Then, “If God Can Bring Me to it, He can Bring me Through It”, in 2013, a book about Ladii growing up with the knowledge of the many events. “Through God, she made it” in 2014, a book about her youngest daughter who was born with multiple disabilities and was told she would only live a short life. After witnessing the blessing of her daughter still being here today, along with the success of her book, Ladii dove more into writing. She wrote and published “A Lifetime of Love” in 2015, her first Romance novel, about 2 High School sweethearts, who lost touch of each other and found one another again in the Country of Love, Paris, even with the up and downs and the struggle of their life, love conquered all. The readers wanted to know more about the 2 lovebirds, so Ladii decided that she would give the audience what they needed, and the new novelist, “A Lifetime of Love, Parts 1 & 2,” was born in 2018. Ladii wanted to expand her writing some more, so her and her husband who is her co-writer wrote and published a children’s book called, “Shayla and Mike’s Big Adventure” in 2018 as well. A book about 2 children with big imaginations, Shayla was diagnosed with Autism, there adventure led them through the Safari. She is currently Publishing the boo, “TESTimony, How Being Obedient Changed Me”, the book was first launched originally in 2022, but it needed re-editing, so it had to go back into rotation, but is currently being published as I mentioned before between the end of this week, no later than the end of next weekend, that book is about Ladii’s journey after finding God again, and how being Obedient to God, changed her for the better, even with the struggles, staying obedient brought her through a lot. It is inspiring and encouraging, it is very close in content as her very first book in 2011. Ladii’s books are geared towards several different audiences and aspects of life. With years of practice and experience, her writing styled has enhanced. Outside of her writing career, she finds joy in reconciling relationships and putting smiles on people’s faces, being around family and friends, Spending time wither daughters, grandchildren, fur-baby, her husband and her Church family, ministering to others, giving and being an encouragement. There is alot of projects that are in store for Ladii in 2023 and onward.

Have you ever had to pivot?
There was a time that there was pivot in my career as a Writer, was last year in 2022, when I decided that being a better Author and taking my career as an Author was something I wanted to rebuild and rebrand for myself. I did not realize how important Branding was, so I hired a Publicist/Agent after my daughters and Husband told me that it would be best for me and that the DIY was no longer the best way to go.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My goal and mission that is driving in my creative journey is to bring more awareness and possible resources to those with Multiple Disabilities (because of my youngest daughter), Encouraging and inspiring from young to old, all ethnicities, genders and globally, with my creativity. All of my books hones on all people, that someone can identify with.
