We were lucky to catch up with Ladies In Full Effect recently and have shared our conversation below.

Ladies In Full Effect, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s been the most meaningful project you’ve worked on?

Ladies In Full Effect is in FULL Effect. They unleashed their 3rd work of music art and their 1st FULL album (previous releases were EPs). The CHH duo is back with a variety of music for all age groups and genres. The ladies have stretched their creative abilities and added specially invited guests to feature on the album, Book of Life III. After several rounds of God demonstrating His way in their lives, Ladies In Full Effect found it fitting to honor God with the subtitle to the album, YOUR WAY. This album is meaningful in a lot of ways because the music and the lyrics speak volume to allowing the Lord to have His way in our lives.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Ladies In Full Effect is an amazing collaboration of two siblings coming together for one central focus, the message of Christ. One of CHH’s dopest female Christian hip hop rap duo from the Atlanta, GA, these biological sisters love Christ and love music.
Tiffany DeWalt, innovatively known as TiffLIFE brings a whole nostalgic vibe to the music in BOOK OF LIFE music. TiffLIFE creatively uses music to raise awareness of relevant issues that challenge social justice and liberty. TiffLIFE’s evangelical inspiration includes being a sounding board for the cause of Christ. She does not back down to representing Christ in her lyrics and relating present day issues to the need for Christ. Her lyrical style produces thought provoking social consciousness and heart piercing knowledge. TiffLIFE’s inspiration of music comes from traditional/old school hip hop and gospel. Her style of rap is mixed with influences from the North, Southeast, and the West Coast. TiffLIFE is unique in mixing words with her uniquely poetic flow.
Pastor Tangela Morris, musically known as Pastor T is a heavy hitter packed with a powerful punch and a sultry growl. Pastor T has a unique sound that is quite unexpected. Her harmonic sound has variances that create a rough edge and a smooth flow. Pastor T adopted the nickname, “The Tanimal” as her lyrics and sound is tenacious, inspiring, and attracts attention to listen to the lyrics. Pastor T grew up listening to the “crunk” styles of rap down in Atlanta, GA which has a huge influence to her musically. Pastor T loves to keep the crowd hype and is known for catching the audience attention with her strong voice and unique moves. Pastor T stays true to Pastoring through her music, she is invested in teaching and helping people to learn more about Christ in her lyrics.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

We started this music journey in our late 30s. For some, that may mean that we were no longer in our prime. However, we have noticed an entire new world that opened up for us since we released our inhibitions and allowed ourselves to learn this path. We love the idea of “its never too late” and “you’re never too old”. We want to encourage others on this journey, keep going and don’t allow others to discourage you from doing what is in your heart.

What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?

From our view, continuing to create avenues for artist to express themselves is best. We love festivals, small spaces, large spaces, and more to be able to provide fun music that is uplifting as well as entertaining. We feel like it is wrapped in our purpose to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We also want to encourage customers to keep providing support to venues that may not be as “popular” as others but still hold a space for creatives.
