We were lucky to catch up with LaDeidra Stokes-Roberts recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi LaDeidra, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear about the best boss, mentor, or leader you’ve ever worked with.

One of the best bosses that I have worked with would have to be Mrs. Cynthia W. Graham. On July 23, 2008, I started as a Family Services Advocate at Childhood Development Services. She was not only a boss to me but she was also an amazing mentor. At the time I was just graduating from South Carolina State University, therefore I was 24 years old when I pursued my very first career. Mrs.Graham has taught me so much, not only the way to become proficient in my job but also my work/life balance. Some of these ways were: making sacrifices for my family, being an advocate for myself, stepping out of my comfort zone, and working towards being a public speaker. When my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, she was very accommodating and supportive through one of the hardest moments in my life.

LaDeidra, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

RBS Counseling & Educational Services LLC thrives under LaDeidra Stokes-Roberts’ expertise as an entrepreneur, mental health counselor, and kids’ life coach. She’s also a mother to two children Deyonna Stokes-Roberts and Kaden Roberts; so, she’s amply qualified and equipped to help people grow into better versions of themselves. She has a Master of Arts in Human Services Counseling/Marriage and Family Cognate from Liberty University. She also has a Master of Science in Human Services/ Social & Community Services from Capella University. She is currently working towards her Master of Social Work at Capella University. She is a Provisional Mental Health Counselor Licensee for the state of Florida.

At the core of RBS Counseling & Educational Services, LLC’s operations is a rich suite of services that include mental health care, educational services, and life coaching services to children and families. The platform’s focus on children utilizes their interests and strengths to deliver developmental training and activities. Adults, couples, and families also get to benefit from education, life coaching, and trauma-informed care training services. The services available at RBS Counseling & Educational Services LLC can be accessed via phone, virtual sessions, face-to-face sessions, and group sessions. Describing the motivation behind establishing the platform, LaDeidra said: “I wanted to turn my passion, talents, and interest into a business venture to serve others. I decided to build my own brand when my mother passed away in February 2016. She enjoyed helping others in her community, so I wanted to continue her legacy of helping others.”

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?

LaDeidra Stokes-Roberts’ commitment to bringing about change in her community led her to build RBS Counseling & Educational Services LLC. RBS Counseling & Educational Services LLC has championed many causes in the world and helped LaDeidra Stokes-Roberts and her family delivers their desired impact in the world. Named after LaDeidra’s mother, Richardean B. Stokes, who was passionate about giving back to the community during her lifetime, RBS Counseling & Educational Services was established to keep her legacy alive. The platform created numerous programs designed to give back to the community such as mental health/wellness forums, homework help programs, back-to-school care events, music/mental health, educational workshops, reaching-beyond-self workshops, men’s basketball tournaments, and a host of other activities.
