We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Lacy Stacy a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Lacy, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?

My mom and dad instilled perseverance. Today, they continue to teach me, try to guide me, and encourage me! They have always taught me to work hard on anything I do, and to do my best. But of course, I have stumbled, tripped, and even fell along way a time or two. They have always supported me but told me about the cold hard facts in the same sentence. There are two things that top perseverance that they didn’t teach me but showed me and that’s love, and they have never given up on me or my dreams!

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

Hey! I am Lacy Stacy the owner of The Pool Nurses. A small family owned and operated swimming pool business. My partner in life, Brian is also my business partner. We have two kids an 8-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son. Before I started our business I worked as a CNA at the hospital in my hometown for ten years and Brain worked as a Diesel Mechanic. While working as a CNA I attended college to obtain a registered nursing license. A long story shortened Brian and I got divorced, I failed a class was kicked out of the nursing program. I was upset, angry, and all of those that you can imagine. I continued working as a CNA and decided I’d take a break from school when I found out I was pregnant with my son in 2019. In 2019 the hospital floor closed, and I transferred to another facility and eventually resigned. In 2020 The Pool Nurses were official and received the name from my mom. It fit so well and was perfect!

I am most proud of how far this business has come! It gives me cold chills! I am proud of the relationships that we have made along the way with some of the greatest people! I am grateful for the love and support that has been to us, because it wouldn’t be possible without them!

We offer a variety of services from residential to commercial properties, opening and closing pools, cleaning pools, equipment repair and new equipment installation, water chemistry balancing, chemical sales, and much more. What sets us apart from others is we are a professional pool service provider; we provide quality detail-oriented work. While in the hospital setting, I provided care to patients as if those patients were my family members. With us, The Pool Nurses we maintain pools as if they are ours.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

The services provided are professional, knowledgeable, detail-oriented, and affordable. Alot of referrals and recommendations from clients that we’ve previously provided services for, and through our Facebook page.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?

For me its communication, consistency, and perseverance.
