Alright, Lacretia L. thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
The mission of Detroit CEO Media is to help your business owners tell the brand story they want to tell. This is very meaningful to me because, when working with brands, we want to be able to meet their needs by obtaining a full understanding of their brand aesthetic, and formulating a solution to help share their brand story through accompanying digital products such as magazines and podcasts.

Lacretia L., before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a serial Entrepreneur with extensive experience in podcast production and development, digital media and publishing. I got into the media space by recognizing that at the time of my launch of Detroit CEO Magazine (2012) that there was a percentage of underrepresented professionals in various fields that were deserving of media attention. Fast forward to evolution, I launched Detroit CEO Media and the Brave Ambition Radio Network to further that mission and create an inclusive platform that included servicing like-minded entrepreneurs and creatives.
During my tenure as the leader of Detroit CEO Media, I’m most proud of our evolution overall. As the first woman in the state of Michigan and the second in the United States to lead a podcast network. The main thing that I want potential clients, followers and fans to know is that my team can work with them to establish or re-imagine their brand story by including digital products to align with their goals.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
Word of mouth has absolutely been the best source of new clients. I hyper aware of the importance of people speaking your name or the name of your business in rooms that you may be absent from at the time of the mention. That speaks volumes for your character and work ethic and I’m always humbly appreciative of the sentiment.

We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
Actually, I can share the story of how I met my best friend and Managing Editor for Detroit CEO Magazine, Ms. Angela T. Jones. She attended the inaugural launch event in September 2012 as a special invited guest. We met for the first time there. Since then, she has become pivotal to the success of the publication and also hosts the companion podcast for Detroit CEO Magazine called In Conversation w/ Angela T. Jones.
