Lachelle, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?
Naming my business was easy. I named my business after my Bigmomma. Her name is Harriett Stevenson. I felt obligated to continue her legacy through cooking. In my case baking. It started with her Sweet Potato Pie recipe

I started baking at home for family and friends. I followed in my Bigmomma footsteps by baking her specialty desserts for family holidays and special occasions— peach cobbler, German chocolate cake, and banana pudding among them. Bigmomma’s recipes were my starting point, and I added my own twist on classic cookies and cakes.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
1. Delivering Consistent Value:
I built my reputation by consistently providing high-quality products that met or exceeded expectations. Reliability in delivering results is a major factor in building trust and a good reputation.
2. Building Relationships: I have established strong, positive relationships with clients over 9 years in this business. Some of customers became family.
3. Upholding Integrity: My Reputation shaped by my ethical behavior—honesty, transparency, and fair dealings played a role in solidifying niche in the community.
4 Positive Client/Customer Feedback: My clients or customers regularly give you positive reviews or refer others to you, this organic word-of-mouth likely enhanced your reputation.

I didn’t have to look far. My business partner is my twin sister. She has a background in accounting and I asked her to help me. She’s been with me ever since.
