Lacey, appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I will be honest, I am not sure which of these topics to choose. I have been in the Day Spa Business for 17 years and have had many successes and many opportunities ( challenges). In 2020 we opened Pause Facial Bar as a pivot… we had a salon and both our stylists decided to open their own salon and we quickly decided to pivot to a new business model. Also in 2020 my husband and I opened Gateway Powersports to pursue his dreams. To be successful, I think you need to be open to opportunities when they show up and sometimes you have to pursue them. You have to be open minded and look at every opportunity from various angles.

Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Growing a clientele for my has always been about building relationships ( positive relationships with boundaries). Being present in the community and being invested in your community. Identify your niche and get to work making an impact. Encourage your team to do the same.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Leadership is something that has always been a natural thing to me. Helping and guiding my team to be the best version of themself and sometimes that means coaching a team member out of our team. Being clear about expectations and having open honest ( sometimes hard ) conversations in a timely manner.
