Lacey & Marley, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. The first dollar your business earns is always special and we’d love to hear how your brand made its first dollar of revenue.

There was a new boutique opening in the small town we live in, and we were running errands with some family members. It happened to be this new boutique’s grand opening that day, and we discussed wanting to stop in but didn’t feel we were prepared yet. We had just launched our spiritual business and didn’t even have business cards yet. We knew something was drawing us to this new boutique, but we weren’t ready to meet the owners yet. The family members running errands with us insisted we stop by the new boutique – despite our protests.

When we entered the boutique, a large group of customers had just left, leaving us alone with the owners. It was a beautiful space full of crystals, incense, plants, natural products, and there was a hint of spiritual energy in the air. We started a conversation with the owners about the building they were in, their business, and astrology. This naturally led to a discussion about our spiritual work, and we felt compelled to share that they had a spirit in the upstairs of their building. We ended up exchanging contact information to stay in touch with them. Little did we know, the owners of this boutique would become very important in our lives….

Later that day, we sent them a message on social media and were beyond excited when they reached out to hire us for a psychic sweep of their building! We had somehow received our very first client on the day we were dragged into their boutique. We did it without business cards, wearing old jeans, sneakers, and no makeup.

Since the day we connected with them, we’ve become close friends, family, and mentors to each other. This experience taught us the power of showing up as your authentic self and divine timing. Our business had only existed for about one month before receiving our first client, revealing how the Universe and Spirit supports us and the work we set out to do through Twin Essence.

Lacey & Marley, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

We grew up with an interest in the paranormal and spiritual world from a very young age. We went from watching paranormal TV to finding investigations we could join and learn from. The further we went into the paranormal and spiritual world, the more our spiritual abilities began to awaken. We started to experience visitations from passed loved ones and communicate with Spirit. Though not always visible physically, it was energetically apparent we had a connection to an unseen world that supported and responded to us in ways words can’t always explain. It was clear we were meant to help others with our gifts, so we became dedicated to developing as psychic mediums and lightworkers. Eventually, people started to ask us for cleansings and other spiritual services. As a result, Twin Essence was born to spread light, healing and messages from the world of Spirit.

We work to facilitate healing for clients through our spiritual abilities. Each client has unique needs, but readings or sessions can include sharing messages from passed loved ones, energy work, understanding lessons from the Universe, breaking generational patterns, understanding one’s life path, Starseed guidance, etc. Sometimes, someone needs to hear a specific message or receive clarity about a past event to help them move forward. Our job is to provide them with the message and guidance while our clients must decide what to do with the information. Through Twin Essence, we offer spiritual readings, spiritual guidance, cleansings, and psychic sweeps. We work with Spirit to guide each session, and do our best to serve others in whatever way we are called to.

Although we’re identical twins, we receive information from Spirit in different ways. Our differences provide balance when working with clients and set us apart from others. We offer individual and shared spiritual services through Twin Essence, so clients can choose who they are drawn to or experience twin magic when working with both of us. We also love collaborating with other small businesses on unique events such as spiritual workshops, retreats, and pop-up events.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

Throughout our journey with Twin Essence and our individual spiritual development, we had to unlearn the planning of “how” to achieve goals and the need to know outcomes. We let go of knowing “how” everything works out and released expectations of outcomes. Society has taught most of us that we need to have a plan and know all the steps to reach our goals. Society teaches us to control rather than flow. In reality, most dreams don’t transpire through planning. Dreams are meant to flow through us.

It’s important to take inspired action and small steps towards your goals and dreams, but the journey is supposed to be fun, joyful, and unexpected. The best parts of life are unplanned. The most successful achievements typically come from a place of creativity and passion. We’ve found we see more success when we’re having fun with our business and offerings rather than following what we think will be successful or get us to the next stage of a goal. We’ve leaned into trusting the plan the Universe and Spirit have for us and knowing that we will get where we need to be in divine timing.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?

We’re lucky to have supportive mentors and find inspiration in different art forms that impact our business philosophy and creative thinking process. Almost every day we consume some type of art through music, podcasts, movies, TV shows, interviews, or books. We find inspiration in this art and allow it to influence our business and creative process.

Spiritually, we found inspiration and alignment through the Spirit School podcast by the Squamish Medium, Danielle Searancke. This podcast provided guidance in the early days of our spiritual awakenings, helping us learn more about our abilities and running a spiritual business. Spirit School also connected us to other lightworkers and healers who we’ve become friends with and learn from.

We’re also inspired and guided by artists and creatives who’ve achieved their dreams. For example, we look up to Jon Bon Jovi as a public figure who’s experienced many achievements in music, movies, and philanthropy. We’ve learned about his business and life philosophies through various interviews and podcasts. His perspective and insight has resonated with us on our journeys.

These are a few of the resources we’ve been impacted by and find influential. We can only hope to be in a position that will impact others in the way our mentors and inspirations have impacted us.
