We were lucky to catch up with Lacey Humble recently and have shared our conversation below.
Lacey, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Crazy stuff happening is almost as certain as death and taxes – it’s technically “unexpected” but something unexpected happening is to be expected and so can you share a crazy story with our readers?
We had a new customer drive all the way from Louisiana to purchase from us I was so emotional and greatful for the support. Well the only unexpected thing is the fact that we created a vending machine first of its kinds that caters to preemie micro preemie babies as well as products to support the whole family having talks with multiple hospitals for a year and it still not being placed in any yet that is the biggest curve ball because when we mention it at pop up shows and conventions customers are confused to how such a great concept has yet to find a home and we concur.
Lacey, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
After having my daughter early at 25 weeks I saw the void and need for truly preemie clothing so I created it. We are the worlds only micro preemie through toddler years custom clothing company and supporting items for the entire family.
The clothes are super cute, comfortable and luxurious and it’s all inclusive we support and represent for all people with the owner being a beautiful black woman and single mom raised by a strong beautiful grandmother and mother.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
The fact that the business is literally my story named after my beautiful daughter once a preemie ballerina Kathryn I’m not just the ceo but I’m a parent who was in the same shoes as most of these parents and I relate to them with my entire heart.
I’m relate able and down to earth people see and feel that I’ve literally cried with customers sharing what we went through in nicu with our babies and every tear filled thank you from the parents keep me going.
Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
In addition to our store we have a vending machine with preemie clothing and products but we are still trying to find a hospital that’s a right fit to place it. It’s imperative that we put it in the hospitals for convenience for the parents.
We do baby expos and cater to the entire family with custom items house hold, fashion even pre and post natal items for mom and postpartum depression Awareness literature and the dangers of child birth and African American women that I’m currently working on which is my passion
