We recently connected with Lacey Byrd and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Lacey, thanks for joining us today. Taking care of customers isn’t just good business – it is often one of the main reasons folks went into business in the first place. So, we’d love to get a conversation going around how to best help clients feel appreciated – maybe you can share something you’ve done or seen someone do that’s been really effective at helping a customer feel valued?
With every Luxe Derby event I pay particular attention to making sure the gift boxes are top tier. That may seem insignificant compared to so many other details of the event but that 1 thing goes such a long way in expanding the over all event experience for the attendees.. My charity liaison curated an amazing list of sponsors that we know will resonate with our audience.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Lacey Etheredge Byrd (Lacey Nicole) and I am the owner of Proluxe Cleaning and the founder of Luxe Lifestyle I curate event experiences. I am also the proud owner of Luxe Home Fragrances, a luxury home and personal fragrance line.
All three of my brands feed each other and each birthed another. There is a unique synergy between all 3 which makes it not feel like work most of the time…..heavy emphasis on most lol.
My businesses are a success mainly because I have a keen understanding of my audience. I know what they want. I anticipate their needs and desires. I stay true to that and it has not lead me wrong.
God pushes sometimes to get out of our own way. I started my cleaning company 3 months before the pandemic without a clue of how important it would become for me and my family. I didn’t even know how much I needed it. I had a great career with a great income at the time but somehow I just knew to start that business at that time and the rest has been history.
I am rebranding in 2024 and excited to show those familiar and new all the seeds Ive been sowing behind the scene! I am confident that people are going to love it!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
If pivot had a middle name it would be Lacey lol! I think alot of us had to pivot as a result of the pandemic and we he recent rise in expenses.
After starting my cleaning company the pandemic hit a few months later and I found my self unexpectedly unemployed.
I immediately poured into my own business and it paid off big time! My little ole’ company landed and deal with a major hotel and now I was able to provide for my household and several others with a company less than a year old.
The power of pivoting and perseverance is unmatched.
Can you open up about how you funded your business?
I still maintain a career in sales. I remember a few years back I would have never considered a sales role and now its the only thing I will do.
The flexibility and commissions is how I started and initially funded all of my brands.
