Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Lacey Bridges. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Lacey thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea sprang from a desire to create a happier working environment. I aspired to navigate toward a place where creativity could thrive, and a true team could form. I’m extremely passionate about surrounding myself with a positive atmosphere that can spread its influence. Someone once tried to give me advice that reaching the top required playing dirty, and it struck a chord with me that I had to prove that idea wrong.
I had been contemplating the idea of starting my own agency for a few years. I realized my love for what I do and the people I’ve had the privilege to surround myself with, I needed to make it happen. Our shared goal is to provide value to clients while uplifting everyone on board. We strive to be the best, continually growing and improving, all while forging a path that clears the way for others, rather than stepping over people to get there.

Lacey , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Lacey Bridges, and I am the Founder of an experiential Marketing Agency, Black Flamingo.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Many people believe they have the best team and offer the best service, and we are no different. We constantly strive to push the boundaries of innovation and create something unique within our industry.
I challenge myself and everyone around me to see how far we can push our limits. To be the best, every day must be approached as an opportunity to excel. Every event, campaign, and client is treated with the same question: how can we be better? How can we deliver more, and how can we take things to the next level and beyond? We will pursue every conceivable solution until we all believe we have achieved the ultimate outcome.
What sets us apart is our commitment to becoming an extension of our clients’ teams. We are fiercely competitive and unwaveringly loyal. Regardless of the project’s size, we put our all into finding the best way to bring their vision to life, pushing our capabilities to the absolute maximum and beyond.
Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Accountability. To manage a team you have to keep your team motivated and inspired. What you expect from your team, you must equally deliver, with the same dedication and eagerness to achieve your goals.
Furthermore, it is essential to hold each team member accountable for both their successes and their challenges. It’s about acknowledging and celebrating achievements while also addressing and learning from mistakes. The key is to strike a balance – we don’t dwell on errors, but we don’t ignore them either. Instead, we acknowledge them, correct them, and turn them into valuable learning experiences.”

Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Management style would be Jocko Willink’s book Extreme Ownership. I listen to the audio book on repeat while traveling for work and business. I highly recommend for anyone to read and use as a guide to not only leading a team but application for every day life. “It’s not what you preach, it’s what you tolerate.”
Philosophy would be Hunter S Thompson. “Beware of looking for goals: look for a way of life. Decide how you want to live and then see what you can do to make a living within that way of life.”
