We recently connected with L G Boyle and have shared our conversation below.
L G , appreciate you joining us today. We’d love to hear about a project that you’ve worked on that’s meant a lot to you.
Seasoned the series where I am a singer, songwriter, and vocal coach. Thank you Lord, a collaborative effort with Comfort People Ministries out of Rwanda, the heart of Africa. The Chosen Chronicles, a fantasy adventure YA series available on Amazon. Five songs released and streaming on all digital platforms.

L G , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I lived a muggle existence until I began my life as an author in 2014. Prior to that, I was a blogger at the Word in My Life for several years. I’ve published four books in the Chosen Chronicles series. That was the fulfillment of a long time dream to combine my favorites genres, Christian, fantasy adventure, and YA fiction. But writing is my second love. My first love soon re-inserted itself, reclaiming my time, and refused to continue taking a back seat!
As the pandemic ended, I partnered with my high school classmate on a project. Aretha Tatum writes and directs short films. Her film, Seasoned, is the story of three mature friends who decided to follow their dream of becoming a girl group. But Aretha needed help of a musical nature. Enter, me!
I’ve been singing since I was a child but, for various reasons, hadn’t done much with my gift except sing in the choir. Even as I took on the role of vocal coach, helping Aretha and the cast to bring this project to life musically, I remained passive and would not do anything that put me in the spotlight.
That all changed with more involvement in the project (which had morphed into a series) and life began to imitate art. I passionately embraced the call to do more with this second act of my life. I was inspired to be more by the examples presented around me. I realized I still had much more living to do.
I began to write songs and Aretha graciously included my first effort in the series, encouraging me to release Cougar. I was terrified but I answered the challenge. Since then, I’ve released four additional songs, one of which (Fifty Fine) will be premiering on an upcoming episode of Seasoned. I’ve stepped in front of the camera and taken on an acting role as Rain, the vocal coach you love to hate! Cougar recently spawned a music video and a line dance. And I’ve just kept a promise to myself and released my first Christmas single, O Come, Emmanuel!
I could go on but suffice to say, I’m living the life of my dreams now. In October, I returned from a media tour in Rwanda due to a collaboration with a youth choir there, Comfort People Ministries. I am now an international indie artist! That trip yielded another song that will be released soon and a full length music video for our last release, Thank you, Lord. I’m feeling mighty blessed that I get to do what I love.

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Divorce can be an amazing motivator and indicator of resiliency. Life began anew for me then, over twenty years ago. I thought my life was over but I refused to let that event be my epitaph. For my sake and that of my children I had to become better, not bitter. I was determined to live a good life and set an example for generations to come.

What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
Change is inevitable. You don’t have to like it but you do need to embrace it. Yes, it’s scary because it’s unknown. But it can lead to all kinds of wonderful events, lessons, and relationships. We must become agents of change, chameleons, reinventing ourselves over as many times as necessary, for as long as we are here. Change is growth. It’s where magical things can happen.
