Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kyree Anderson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kyree, appreciate you joining us today. Can you talk to us about how you learned to do what you do?
Honestly I think creating is a constant learning experience. Something you love in the moment could quickly change into something you never wanna see/hear again. It’s just being consistent and creating what you feel compelled to share in the moment. As far as skills, I’ve always had the ability to think quickly, which made me good at freestyling. I’m at the point now where I can freestyle whole songs in one take. In regard to obstacles, I think like writers block or lack of inspiration was and is my biggest obstacle. It’s completely normal and you just gotta let it pass.
Kyree, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My name is Kyree but i release content as “Acme”. I am a Dallas local. I like to refer to myself as a creator, however I mostly release music content based in hip hop/rap and alternative.
I release music that I like to listen to. This means that each song release could sound completely different from the ones before and I like that. I feel like that’s what creating is. Trial and error.
I have a ton of music out right now on all platforms. Search “Acme”. A song I’d recommend to introduce myself would be, “Levels”. That’s probably one of my favorite songs by myself and I freestyled most of it.
For those that don’t know, freestyling in rap is when you start rapping a song with no lyrics written before. Everything you say is made up on the spot. That’s one of my favorite ways to create.
The music that I’m working on right now will be some of the best I’ve ever released. It’s crazy because it’s been the easiest and most enjoyable to make. I’ve been collaborating and may even be apart of a new group one way or another. That’s a teaser for anyone who actually follows me haha.
For anyone interested in giving me a listen I appreciate you and I hope you find your new favorite song! There’s something for everyone, I promise. I will be releasing new music soon, and you can follow me on all streaming platforms by searching “Acme” and any social media @acme.x.
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
This is a great question. I think about this a lot. Right now I would say my goal would create a solid fan base. I don’t really wanna be famous though. Just like a large enough following where it can be my full time career, but small enough where I can shop at target without security. Hopefully that makes sense. I want to create a community of people that enjoy the style of music I create and evolve as an artist with them by my side.
Can you share your view on NFTs? (Note: this is for education/entertainment purposes only, readers should not construe this as advice)
I am far from a subject matter expert on NFTs, but I think they could be cool if done right. I was really into crypto a few years ago. I actually won $10,000 in crypto a few years ago on an artist competition show. I won the show with my song “Chosen One”. After that I was in the whole NFT/Crypto world for a bit until the market crashed. Now I just check on it from time to time. Nothing crazy.
