We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kyra Leeigh. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with kyra below.
Kyra, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?
It all started during my freshman year of college when a friend reached out, needing help with their website. At the time, I had no prior experience in web design or branding, but I saw it as an opportunity to learn something new. I dove into research, spending hours figuring out how websites worked, what made them appealing, and how to structure them. It was challenging but exhilarating at the same time.
After successfully launching that first website, I realized I had a knack for this. I loved the creative process and the satisfaction of helping someone bring their vision to life. That experience sparked the idea for Graphics by Leeigh. I remember thinking, “If I could do this for one person, why not others?”
The next few months were all about preparation. I had to figure out the technical side of web design, branding, and marketing. I researched industry trends, learned the necessary tools, and invested time in understanding what clients wanted. I set up my first official portfolio, showcasing the work I had done for my friend and a few others who had come my way by word of mouth.
Getting my business off the ground took careful planning. I worked on building a brand identity for Graphics by Leeigh, making sure it was professional and appealing to potential clients. I started small, offering affordable services like logo design and simple websites. Slowly, as I gained more experience, I expanded my offerings, diving into more complex branding packages and even eFlyers.
There were days when I doubted myself, but I kept pushing through, balancing school with growing my business. The most important thing I learned during that time was to stay consistent, always deliver quality work, and maintain good relationships with clients.
As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m the founder of Graphics by Leeigh, a business that started during my freshman year of college when I helped a friend build a website. Despite having no prior experience, I discovered a passion for design and branding, which eventually led me to launch Graphics by Leeigh.
Today, I offer services like website design, branding suites, logo creation, and marketing materials such as eFlyers and business cards. My focus is on creating personalized solutions that help entrepreneurs bring their visions to life and stand out in their industries.
What sets me apart is the personal attention I give to each project, ensuring that every design is not only visually appealing but also aligned with the client’s business goals. I love helping clients, especially those who feel overwhelmed by the branding process, to create cohesive and professional visuals that elevate their brand.
What I’m most proud of is how far Graphics by Leeigh has come—from helping a friend to now supporting countless entrepreneurs. My goal is to provide high-quality, personalized work that consistently exceeds expectations.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
When I first started Graphics by Leeigh, I knew social media would be a key tool for growth. I focused on following potential clients in different cities, which helped expand my reach beyond just my local area. It wasn’t just about following them, though—I made sure to build genuine relationships. I engaged with their content, offered helpful advice, and created connections that eventually turned into business opportunities.
Over time, my loyal clients played a huge role in building my audience. They would promote and repost my work, which helped me reach even more people. Word of mouth, especially on social media, became a powerful tool for growth. Clients sharing their positive experiences not only built trust but also brought in more followers and business.
For anyone just starting out, my biggest advice is to be authentic and consistent. Focus on building real relationships rather than just gaining followers.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
The best source of new clients for me has definitely been word of mouth. Satisfied clients who promote and share my work on social media have brought in a lot of new business. Their recommendations are powerful because they come from a place of trust, and potential clients are more likely to reach out when they see someone they know endorsing my work.
In addition to that, building relationships through social media—by following and engaging with potential clients in other cities—has also been a great way to attract new clients. It’s all about creating connections and letting your work speak for itself.
