Kylie, appreciate you joining us today. Setting up an independent practice is a daunting endeavor. Can you talk to us about what it was like for you – what were some of the main steps, challenges, etc.
Early on I decided to start my practice so I could treat my patients on my own terms. I wanted to be able to deliver an amazing experience in a place where they felt welcomed and not judged.
I started super small! I rented a room in a beautiful local salon and grew a patient base from 0. It’s so important to remember to be patient when building a business. Nothing happens overnight.

Kylie, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m Dr. Kylie Melton, a board-certified physician and founder of The Aesthetic Clinic. I began my career in family medicine but wanted to create confidence and an aesthetic space where everyone could feel comfortable. A place where you know you’ll leave looking like yourself, not like everyone else.
At The Aesthetic Clinic, we specialize in natural, full-face injectable and laser treatments that enhance harmony and confidence. Every treatment is designed with balance in mind so results feel elevated yet authentic.
What sets us apart is our commitment to subtle, timeless outcomes and the genuine relationships we build with our patients. I’m most proud of the trust our clients place in us and the transformations that go far beyond the surface.
Our work is about more than beauty. It’s about confidence, connection, and creating a space where you feel seen, understood, and truly cared for.

Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
I think the best way to succeed in this field is to continue to treat your patients as exactly that, your patients! Avoid doing things that are trendy and doing things just because everyone else is doing it. This is a medical specialty and we should treat it that way.

Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
I can’t say enough about word of mouth. Treating people right goes so far. If they love your work, they will absolutely tell their friends and family and refer them!
