Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kyle Thomas. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Kyle, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Are you able to earn a full-time living from your creative work? If so, can you walk us through your journey and how you made it happen?
I am grateful every day that I get to do the work that I do, at the level that I do, in the media. It truly is such a blessing, but it is also tremendously hard work. For many years I have been working nearly 7-days a week, 12+ hour days. I have found that when you are living your “passion,” work and passion unite intensely so it is easy to get sucked up into it and do it all of the time. One of the ways I try to break it up (because I work in television, mainstream media, publishing, live events, produce original content for my followers and Patreon community, as well as do live readings) is to try to keep a very thorough list of the priorities that I need to tackle and then knock them off my list. For instance, one day will be entirely focused to working with my agent and producers in television, whereas another day will be focused exclusively on developing the books I am currently writing for publishers. By keeping my flow moving, my creative energy never gets monotonous and I can still bring 100% to whatever project I am engaged within.
Kyle, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a globally featured pop culture astrologer that has been showcased on Access Hollywood, E! Entertainment, NBC, ABC, and CBS television, Good Morning America, the TODAY show, People Magazine, Cosmopolitan Magazine, Entertainment Weekly, the New York Post, Page Six, Hulu, Seventeen Magazine, Bustle, Elite Daily, the Daily Mail, Marie Claire, and more. I am known for my cosmic guidance for celebrities, business executives, and prominent influencers. My work harnesses the power of the stars in regards to entertainment lifestyle and trends affecting people worldwide. My writing and horoscopes have been translated into multiple languages. I have been astrologically gifted naturally from a very young age and teach how to use the Universe to manifest the life you’ve always dreamt of. With over a decade of professional experience and clients all over the world, I currently reside in Los Angeles where I work as a professional astrologer, celebrity life coach, and author. Currently, I am the official astrologer for @Horoscopes + @Horo.ScopesDaily. I received two Bachelor of Arts for Psychology and English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and integrate these degrees into my growing research of psychology, personality, and the human condition.
Since I was 8 years old, I have been studying and researching astrology. I have always been fascinated by myth, spirituality, humanity, and psychology. As a child, I was naturally led to astrology due to its connection with mythology and its integration with many ancient philosophies. The more that I learned, the more fascinated I became. Not only did I realize that astrology could give me insight into myself and other people, but I found its predictive quality most intriguing. Also, around that same point in time, I became deeply invested in Hollywood and pop culture, as I was trained as a professional actor. As I grew, my love for all things pop culture—film, music, fashion, and art—all expanded. However, growing up, I never realized I could be a “pop culture astrologer,” as I now am. Throughout college and in my 20s, I would post astrological predictions on my social media. These predictions began to go viral. This eventually led me to begin writing for blogs, creating my own blog, and eventually catching the attention of the mainstream media and many celebrities in Los Angeles. As I began doing readings for celebrities, public figures, and influencers, as well as being interviewed by the media and eventually writing for them, I crafted a career niche that I have since blossomed within. I am eternally grateful every single day.
What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Ultimately, I really want my art and my work to inspire people and help guide them, no matter where they are on their journey. Whether I’m working with a celebrity or someone who is a teenager somewhere in the world is reading my work, I want to leave people with an empowered energy that encourages them to work with astrology to co-create the life of their dreams.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
While I have had many different jobs (and even an entirely different career as a filmmaker and producer) prior to working as a professional astrologer, I think the most rewarding aspect of doing what I do is to truly drive my career at the pace and in the direction that I want. Even though that can be scary at times, I have found being an entrepreneur tremendously rewarding because it allows me to be creative both in art and in business plans.
