We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kyle Jenkins aka Flipzworld a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Flipzworld, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
Well I’ve always wanted a creative path in my career wether it was dancing or making music. Taking on the producer role started back in 2020 & went all on it & have been consistent ever since. I’ve been making music ever since I was child & dancing just as long. Always have had a special connection with music.
Flipzworld, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Well it just started by going in without having any knowledge of the music business side of things. So everyday was a learning experience & still to this I’m constantly learning something new wether it would be my software/hardware or the business. Lots of people are scared to do what they love or have excuses on why they can’t do it etc. Well I want to be the example no only for myself but for my family. My son is the one who keeps me going, letting him know you do anything if you put your mind to it. I have over many many obstacles during my journey, scammers, people who tell you one thing & do something completely different. I’ve learned that it’s extremely hard building friendships/relationships with people in this field, so my advice for anyone who wants to do this be cautious of everything & everyone. If anyone would like to work with me or even purchase anything such a beats or collabs just hit me up on my socials. The most thing I’m proud of is being nominated for best producer in Cleveland that’s a huge milestone for me in my career as of right now. Everyday it’s a emotional Rollercoaster.
Is there a mission driving your creative journey?
Yes! That someday I want to wake up to do what I love to do full time. It’s a slow grind but it’ll happen. Staying positive having a level head & push through. That is my ultimate goal!
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
I’d say the most rewarding as being a producer is people loving the music that you enjoy making. Instead of following trends. I create things that I would listen to myself. Then also being recognized for all of your hard work if from a complete stranger who is a fan of you or it being your friends. It helps with the motivation that’s for sure.
