We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Kyle Horton. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Kyle below.
Kyle, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
The idea behind my business started in the midst of the 2020 pandemic. Once I graduated from college in 2019, I had dreams of being a professional athlete. Those dreams unfortunately were altered by injury. During this time I was still training and working out. Unfortunately, during the pandemic School’s and University’s were closed as everything was put on halt. This created opportunity for me to still be around an environment I loved.
I first started training my former college football teammates that were local. We had some success and that led into my former high school coach reaching out and requesting to lead team workouts for my alma mater. I pride myself on providing an excellent service, that ultimately allows our clients to reach their goals. From there, we were able to expand our services to not only to football based skill development, but also able to provide strength and conditioning aspects. Currently, we have worked with over 150 athlete’s ranging from kindergarten to professional sports. Although sports performance is our bread and butter, we have also expanded our services to outside of performance. Now offering services for our lifestyle and wellness clients, where we have numerous clients who have lost 10 plus pounds!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My business Chosen 1 Training is a health and wellness brand like no other, we were created to help our client’s achieve their goals. We have been in business since March of 2020, the road has not been easy but I am proud of the consistent steps we have taken forward.
I am most proud of the versatility that we have shown in such a short time. Not only do we offer performance training and skill development pertaining to sports goals where, our clientele ranges from kindergarten to working with professional athletes. We also offer personal training and fitness classes focusing on lifestyle and wellness training. Building and maintaining relationship’s allows for our clients to trust the program’s we have in place to get the best results. This also creates a great environment to be apart of.
Giving back to our community is something we pride ourselves on, we have been able to host two local Thanksgiving Canned Food Drive’s where we were able to provide the homeless with over $500 worth of canned goods. Also, we were able to host 3 flag football events where we had over 250 participants total. And also hosted a successful kickball event.
What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
I believe what helped build reputation within our market is the service we provide. Understanding that there is a standard that we want to set and obtain for our clients that will allow for our clients to reach their goals. Once our standard is set, the relationships we build with our clients provided avenues for referrals of business to their circle of peers.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
Not everything has been a smooth road, there have definitely been obstacles that we have had to overcome. I am a firm believer of the quote “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you” by Fred DeVito. With that quote in mind, I try to learn from every challenge understanding that it will make me a better person and business leader in the future.
