We recently connected with Kylan Richburg and have shared our conversation below.

Kylan , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What did your parents do right and how has that impacted you in your life and career?

What my parents did right is to make sure that I do the right thing and not do the wrong thing. They always made sure that I learn how to become responsible and professional towards others. It impact my career by letting me chase my dreams and allowing me to become myself. They had always supported me and they have my best interest at heart. Everything that I went through with them I use it as a resource to make sure that I do right by them and show them that I can be the best if I just listen and work hard for it.

Kylan , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

Hello my name is Kylan Richburg I am 26 years old. I am from Warren Ohio. I am a professional high fashion runway/editorial model. I been modeling for 5 years. I remember when I first started. I was working as a security guard and this guy name Ralph Dixon came to me and asked me “you ever thought becoming a model because you will be great at it” At first I was hesitant because I was an athlete at the time but then I thought about it because my family had the same idea that they think I will be great. So I told Mr. Ralph one day I would like too. Then he had invited to walk for this fashion show for Tony Visions. He was celebrity designer in Miami. Furthermore he told me the one of the models in the show would be selected to go to Miami to walk for him. So I went to the show and I was nervous it was my first time doing something like this but I believe and I did it with confidence. In addition, Ralph told me that I was selected to go to Miami with him to be in the show with Tony Visions it was blessing because I would had never thought he would. Lastly, he flew me down there I was able to be in a private photoshoot and wear his designs and meet other models from around the world. In conclusion it was amazing and it made me realize that I can be good at this and I just to believe and have the dedication for it.m now I am still doing it with my heart and pride. My goal is to become inspiration for other models and to become role model and a top model for myself and my family and friends.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

What help me build my reputation was networking and being around other model and photographers. I think everyone gets scared sometimes when meeting someone new. However meeting people allows you to get to know one another and allows you to brainstorm your ideas and be able to create them with vision you had for yourself.

What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?

My most effective strategy is to make sure I treat my portfolio as clean and organized as possible. I treat my Instagram as my portfolio. Besides a lot of agencies now in days find different models on their social media. However I know they want to see a page from a model that has good work and nice pictures for them to view and get their perspective. Furthermore the strategy I use is to target the agent audiences and photographer audience to get more network growth for them and myself
