We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kylan Meyer a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Kylan, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today How did you come up with the idea for your business?

“I find nothing more motivating than being told “you can’t,” especially for me. At the age of 25, I embarked on my first entrepreneurial venture from the ground up. It all began with my passion for hosting intimate events, which led me to the realization that this is my true calling. Upon discovering the building that I acquired in 2019, I immediately envisioned its redesign and renovation. With the expertise of my father, the owner of Future Builders, every detail was remodeled to absolute perfection, surpassing all expectations within a short span of a couple of months. Moonlight Events wedding venue was built and created with love.

I aimed to establish an environment where love and joy could be shared, free from the typical stress and challenges associated with weddings. Through meticulous curation, I developed all inclusive packages that enable engaged couples to celebrate their special day and other events with ease.

Kylan, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

Hi! my name is kylan, just turning 30 years old and loving every moment of being a triple business owner. My first business began in 2019 named Moonlight Events- an all inclusive indoor and outdoor wedding venue and event center. My second business began In the end of 2022 – Your Big Day bridal shop , providing weddings gowns, tuxedos, formal wear, jewelry and more. My most recent endeavor began in 2023 – Decorative Designs along side my close friend – owner of Bells Bows and Vows I love and breathe all things wedding.
I never anticipated reaching this point. I’ve faced numerous challenges, but I’ve found guidance from God In each step. . I dedicate myself tirelessly to my businesses, pouring my heart into them every day to bring joy to people.
When people think of weddings, their first thought is typically “wow how stressful” and “wedding planning is horrible” – that’s where I come in and why I do what I do. My couples walk away from their wedding days and bridal appointments happy saying “thank you for making this so easy and stress free”
Although I provide a wedding venue/ event space- I provide so much more than that. I provide a loving and warm experience. We do everything in our power to find a way to say “Yes” to all your worries and concerns.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

As a young female business owner, it’s easy to feel overlooked. If I had a dollar for every time someone asked me who my boss was, who the owner was, or who was in charge, or even looked directly at me and walked by me looking for someone who “fit the part,” I’d be rich. However, I’ve learned that a little confidence and some high heels go a very long way. I never let it discourage me and I never question my worth. It’s a reminder that no matter what’s in front of you, your heart and expertise will always win.

How’d you meet your business partner?

I am the sole owner of Moonlight Events and Your Big Day. I do all the day to day operations alone including all marketing and social media. I am the main contact for all couples and I assist at each wedding. I love my event staff and I couldn’t do it without them!!
