Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Kyla Taitt. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Kyla thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Almost all entrepreneurs have had to decide whether to start now or later? There are always pros and cons for waiting and so we’d love to hear what you think about your decision in retrospect. If you could go back in time, would you have started your business sooner, later or at the exact time you started?
If I could go back in time, I definitely wish I had started my business sooner. I’ve always had a heart for helping others—whether it was tutoring classmates, mentoring young women, or simply being someone people could count on. Even before launching ALYK Admin Agency in January 2025, I was already serving in so many ways without realizing I could turn that into a business.
But at the same time, I truly believe that God’s timing is everything. One of my favorite scriptures is Romans 8:28—“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” Everything I’ve experienced up until now—from working retail then eventually becoming a legal assistant to growing in my creative gifts—has shaped me and prepared me for this exact moment.
So while I sometimes wonder what could’ve happened if I started earlier, I’m also grateful for the journey. I’m walking in purpose, and it’s all working together for my good.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
Hi, I’m Kyla Selina—a 24-year-old native of Queens, New York, now thriving in Atlanta, GA. I’m an identical twin, dancer, small content creator, and most importantly, a disciple of Jesus Christ. My faith is the foundation of all I do, and I’m passionate about serving others with intention and grace. Guided by 1 Peter 4:10, I use my gifts to support and uplift those around me, always reminding them to Always Love Yourself Kindly—a call to see yourself the way Christ does and extend grace, especially as business owners navigating it all.
I graduated in 2023 from Georgia State University with a B.S. in Interdisciplinary Studies and a minor in Entrepreneurship. My time in college helped me refine my skills in time management and discipline. Since I was 6 years old, I’ve danced and at age 17 I became part of the Dancing Dolls of Atlanta (DD4L). Dance taught me how to show up effectively, represent a brand, work with a team, and lead by example. It’s shaped my personal and professional life, and during my last year of college, I had the incredible opportunity to coach and mentor young ladies on the team, offering guidance and helping them build confidence, much like the example I once needed.
After graduating, I launched a clothing brand called Identically Distinct, which emphasized the importance of how identical and fraternal twins may look alike but have their own identity. The slogan “Identical yet identified, unified yet unique, similar yet special” reflected my frustration growing up when people referred to me simply as “twin” and didn’t take the time to learn my name or understand who I was as a person. Although the brand is on hold, I continue to look to God for guidance.
My entrepreneurial journey continued with the launch of ALYK Admin Agency in January 2025. Originally, ALYK was a personal care brand focusing on scalp, soul, and self-care, grounded in Psalm 139:14, which inspired the message of embracing our natural selves. After reflecting on what I truly wanted to offer the world, I rebranded ALYK Admin Agency to help entrepreneurs stay organized, productive, and empowered through content creation, branding, and admin support—freeing their time to focus on what matters most.
At ALYK Admin Agency, I specialize in social media management, content creation, branding, graphic design, and administrative assistance. I work with entrepreneurs and small business owners who want to create an authentic connection with their audience and elevate their digital presence. By handling time-consuming tasks, I help my clients focus on their passions and grow their businesses without feeling overwhelmed.
What sets me apart is my faith-driven approach. I believe that every client I work with deserves to feel supported, seen, and empowered. It’s not just about completing a task; it’s about truly serving with love, care, and intention. I am deeply proud of my work with Sisters in Christ ALYK, a growing faith-centered sisterhood where young women connect through Bible studies, prayer, and fellowship. Leading this group has reinforced the importance of community and grace, values that I carry into my business every day.
Ultimately, I want potential clients and followers to know that when they work with me, they’re not just hiring me—they’re partnering with someone who cares deeply about their success. I’m passionate about helping business owners feel confident, seen, and supported so they can focus on what truly matters.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
After graduating from Georgia State University, I worked as a legal assistant for a year. The role taught me valuable skills like organization, attention to detail, and communication. However, over time, I realized that while the work was fulfilling, it didn’t align with my passion for helping others in a more personal and purposeful way. I longed for more flexibility and a deeper sense of purpose in my career.
During a period of reflection and prayer, I felt God leading me to pivot. I took three months to seek guidance, eventually deciding to launch ALYK Admin Agency. I wanted to create a business that allowed me to help entrepreneurs through content creation, branding, and admin support, while also serving with intention and grace.
The skills I developed as a legal assistant—discipline, structure, and clear communication—are still integral to how I run my business today. Pivoting was a leap of faith, but it’s been the best decision I’ve made. It’s allowed me to build a business that aligns with my passions and purpose, and I’m grateful for the journey that led me here.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
Building my audience on social media has been a journey of obedience and growth. For years, I showed up here and there, but I didn’t feel confident in my personal brand, so I kept putting it off. In fact, I waited for about 7 years before I became intentional.
The turning point came when I realized that social media wasn’t just a platform for me to grow my income, but an avenue that God was calling me to use to reach and impact others. It became clear that this was a way for me to step into the creativity He made me with, and that’s when I truly began embracing the calling. I now align my work with my faith, embracing my tagline “A creative made by the Creator.”
As I become more intentional with my presence, I make sure to on focus on staying authentic, showing up for myself, and remaining consistent. Even during the times I feel discouraged or uncertain, I remind myself that my hard work will eventually pay off, and that I am impacting others in ways I can’t yet fully see.
Since making this shift, I’ve received so much encouragement, compliments, and even inquiries about my services, which has been incredibly affirming. For anyone just starting out, my advice is to remain authentic, show up for yourself, and stay consistent. Even when it feels like you’re not getting the support or recognition you want, keep going. Your hard work will pay off, and you’re impacting people more than you know.
