We were lucky to catch up with Kwazar Martin recently and have shared our conversation below.
Kwazar, appreciate you joining us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
What it takes to be success in the field is resilience and not letting go of your imagination while in the process of dealing with real life events. At times life will over shadow your dream chasing at times so you have to stay active in your pursuit as much as possible. Also you have to stay true to you regardless of what others think. I’ve been told my ideas are not possible when I started working.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Well I am a muralist/street artist meaning I use spray can and nothing else. I’m most know for my portrait murals of large scale and cartoon art work second, mainly the Caitlin Clark piece I created

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
To be honest I’ve been through a lot, prison being my biggest turnaround. Landing there based on drug transactions I made before coming home and taking art seriously. I would call my mother and she would always tell me, when I get home just do my art. She was absolutely right and I haven’t looked back since. Being featured in Time magazine really opened my eyes and I knew I was doing the right thing.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
The pivot happen when coming home from prison and figuring out the next steps to never go back. The second pivot happen when leaving my place of employment to journey out into my own venture. Having to create my own avenue of revenues and it’s on me 100% at that point. Failure is not an option.
