Kwame , thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today When did you first know you wanted to pursue a creative/artistic path professionally?
I started making profit from selling beats to selling entire songs in 2017. I looked at making music as a fun way to make some money and as a 17 year old kid any type of money was good money. But I wasn’t driven to continue this creative/artistic path due to the finically gain, a status or even the women. My drive was and will continue to be the love I have for being a creative and watching ideas grow into reality.
Kwame , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Anytime I get a chance to create either a late night in the studio or an early morning on set, I try to inspire everyone from back ground to principles, from producers to the person doing the runs & definitely those who watch or listen to my work.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
Growing up I had bad asthma that caused me to be hospitalized most of the time. I always felt left out in school, and disconnected from my friends & family outside of the hospital. I finally got my asthma under control by the time I was 12 but the feeling of being afraid to get close to anyone grew. Being fully aware of the circle of life definitely play a big part in this. I was never afraid of the the end of the cycle just mostly afraid for the people I leave at the end. Besides learning the circle of life and the end can be so close, I also learned that art last forever.
For you, what’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative artist to me is seeing the final product and watching others react. Being a creative artist is fun yes, but seeing how it impacts people life’s for the better is definitely the most rewarding.
