We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Kwaku Akom a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Kwaku, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with important influences in our lives. Is there a historical figure you look up to?
I admire Jesus as a historical figure and the ultimate example of servant leadership and unwavering principles. His teachings on humility, love, and perseverance have not only shaped my personal life but also profoundly influenced the way I lead and grow my business.
One of the most impactful stories about Jesus is when He washed His disciples’ feet. Despite being their leader, He humbled Himself to serve them, teaching that true leadership comes from serving others. This principle has become foundational in how I approach leadership in my business. I believe in serving my team, clients, and community with humility and empathy, ensuring that their needs are prioritized. This approach fosters trust, loyalty, and collaboration, which are key drivers of our growth.
Another pivotal teaching of Jesus is His emphasis on integrity and excellence, seen in the way He handled challenges with wisdom and grace. In business, this inspires me to uphold the highest standards in everything we do—whether it’s delivering quality service, building lasting relationships, or making ethical decisions. His influence pushes us to create a company culture rooted in honesty, accountability, and a genuine desire to serve others.
For example, as our company has expanded, we’ve prioritized providing not just safe and luxurious housing but accommodations that uplift lives. This is directly tied to Jesus’ teaching to love our neighbor as ourselves. It’s not just about meeting expectations but exceeding them with care and compassion.
Ultimately, Jesus’ leadership model reminds me that success is not measured solely in financial terms but also in the positive impact we have on the people we serve. His example inspires how we operate, grow, and create value, keeping faith, integrity, and service at the center of everything we do.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Kwaku Akom but everyone calls me KP, and I am the CEO of Streamlined Stay Solutions LLC, my wife Jeizreel Cinena, and I built together with God at the center of every decision. Jeizreel serves as the company’s President, and together, we are on a mission to honor God by serving others through our work. Our journey into this industry began as a calling to combine our passion for real estate with a deep desire to meet the housing needs of those in transition, and we recognize that every step of this journey has been guided by God’s hand.
Streamlined Stay Solutions provides luxurious, fully furnished midterm rentals for traveling medical professionals, contractors, digital nomads, and families in need. We also serve government agencies and insurance relocation companies. Owning over 40 units across multiple states, we are humbled to be used as instruments to provide shelter and comfort to those who need it most.
At the heart of our business are the values we derive from our faith: integrity, compassion, and excellence. We believe in treating every client as a reflection of God’s creation, deserving of dignity, respect, and care. This is why we go beyond simply providing accommodations—we strive to create spaces where people can find peace, comfort, and a sense of home during challenging times.
One of the verses that inspires us is Colossians 3:23: “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” This verse reminds us to approach every aspect of our work with excellence, knowing that our ultimate service is to God. Whether it’s ensuring ADA-compliant accommodations, addressing last-minute booking requests, or providing turnkey solutions for displaced families, we see our work as an act of worship, reflecting God’s love and provision.
We are most proud of the impact God has allowed us to make. Through His grace, we’ve partnered with insurance companies to provide housing for families displaced by natural disasters and worked with government agencies to serve veterans, many of whom have sacrificed so much for our nation. These opportunities remind us that our business is not about financial gain but about being faithful stewards of the resources and talents God has entrusted to us.
Our vision extends beyond just managing properties; it’s about transforming lives by providing spaces that inspire comfort, safety, and growth. Whether you’re a traveling professional, a family in need of a temporary home, or an organization seeking reliable housing solutions, Streamlined Stay Solutions is here to serve with integrity, quality, and care.

Have you ever had to pivot?
Our journey in business has been defined by a series of pivotal moments, each one guided by necessity, opportunity, and faith. Streamlined Stay Solutions began during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, when we were initially focused solely on rental properties. As the world changed, so did the needs of the housing market, and we quickly realized we had to adapt.
Our first major pivot was transitioning to midterm rentals, catering to traveling medical professionals who needed safe and comfortable accommodations during the pandemic. This transition was challenging, but it also taught us the importance of being flexible and responsive to market demands.
Once we established ourselves in the midterm rental space, we saw an opportunity to expand our reach by serving engineers, digital nomads, and other professionals seeking quality housing solutions. This diversification allowed us to tap into a broader client base and meet the growing demand for tailored housing options.
However, we soon discovered that the market had seasonal fluctuations, and during slower periods, we needed to rethink our approach. This led to another pivot—offering affordable housing while maintaining our commitment to providing safe, luxurious accommodations. By adjusting our pricing and targeting new demographics, we were able to continue serving our community while keeping our business sustainable.
As we grew, we saw the potential to enter new markets and further expand our services. We added corporate housing to our offerings, working with companies to provide housing solutions for their employees. Shortly after, we began partnering with insurance companies to assist families displaced by disasters, helping them find temporary homes during their times of need.
Our most recent pivot has been entering the government lodging and accommodation space, leveraging our expertise and infrastructure to serve federal and local agencies. This move aligns perfectly with our mission to provide housing that goes beyond comfort—it creates peace of mind and stability for those we serve.
Through each of these pivots, we’ve learned that adaptability is not just about surviving—it’s about thriving by meeting the needs of the people and organizations we serve. Every shift has brought us closer to our vision of being a trusted, purpose-driven housing provider. We’ve faced challenges, but we’ve always relied on our faith, creativity, and commitment to excellence to navigate them.
These experiences have shaped not just our business but also our perspective on what it means to serve others. Pivoting has taught us to embrace change, trust in God’s provision, and stay focused on our mission to uplift lives through housing solutions

Any advice for managing a team?
Managing a team and maintaining high morale starts with servant leadership—leading by example and putting your team’s needs first. From my experience, these key principles have been instrumental in fostering a positive and productive work environment:
1. Communicate with Clarity and Transparency
Your team needs to understand the vision, goals, and expectations. Regularly share updates, provide constructive feedback, and encourage open dialogue. Transparency builds trust, and trust is the foundation of high morale.
2. Lead with Empathy
Every team member has their unique challenges and strengths. Take the time to understand them as individuals. Whether it’s offering flexibility during tough times or celebrating their personal milestones, empathy creates a culture where people feel valued.
3. Celebrate Wins, Big and Small
Acknowledging your team’s achievements is essential. Celebrate not just the major successes but also the small victories. This creates a culture of appreciation and motivates the team to keep pushing forward.
4. Invest in Their Growth
When your team knows you’re invested in their development, they’re more likely to stay engaged. Provide training opportunities, mentorship, and resources to help them grow professionally and personally. When they thrive, so does your business.
5. Foster a Positive Work Environment
Create a space where team members feel safe to voice their ideas, concerns, and even failures without fear of judgment. Encourage collaboration and make room for creativity. A positive, inclusive environment leads to innovation and teamwork.
6. Recognize Effort, Not Just Results
Sometimes, the effort doesn’t immediately translate into measurable success, but it’s still worth recognizing. Praise your team for their hard work, dedication, and perseverance, even when the outcomes aren’t perfect.
7. Model Servant Leadership
Jesus’ example of washing His disciples’ feet reminds us that leadership is about service. Be willing to roll up your sleeves, help where needed, and show your team that no task is beneath you. This humility inspires respect and loyalty.
8. Keep the Purpose Front and Center
When your team knows they’re part of something bigger than themselves, morale stays high. At Streamlined Stay Solutions, we constantly remind our team that we’re not just providing housing—we’re creating safe, comfortable, and transformational spaces for people in need. Aligning work with a meaningful purpose keeps everyone motivated.
9. Prioritize Rest and Well-being
Encourage your team to take breaks, prioritize their mental health, and maintain a healthy work-life balance. High morale isn’t just about working hard; it’s also about feeling supported and energized to bring their best to the table.
10. Pray Together and Lead with Faith
For me, faith is a cornerstone of my leadership. Praying with and for your team fosters unity, trust, and a sense of shared purpose. It reminds everyone that the work we do is part of a greater mission and that God’s grace is with us in every challenge and success.
Final Thoughts
Great teams thrive when they feel seen, heard, and valued. As a leader, your role is to inspire, uplift, and serve them, creating a culture where they can bring their best every day. When you lead with integrity, empathy, and faith, you’ll see not just high morale but also a team that’s united and unstoppable.
