We recently connected with Kunaga Nakhash and have shared our conversation below.
Kunaga, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Alright, so you had your idea and then what happened? Can you walk us through the story of how you went from just an idea to executing on the idea
Starting this business was a risk that involved having faith, resilience, and discipline. It all started with a phone call from a friend. I was living in Texas at the time and received a call from a friend basically asking me to create retreat spaces or events. At that time I was working a temp job at Lowes making a little bit over minimum wage and hating the fact that I had to stand up majority of the day selling products that I didn’t own. After sleeping on the proposal I decided to collaborate with him to create a networking party on my birthday and we’d celebrate it together with the individuals that bought tickets for it. The party was a success and ended up being more than just a networking party. It allowed us to connect with each other in deep and profound ways while also incorporating healing modalities and techniques that made us all feel better and heightened. That was the beginning of something new to me. After that we branched out from doing a one day party to creating a 3-4 day retreat. That space was different for me so I had to research things that would provide value to people traveling to Atlanta Ga to participate in, while also being able to keep a sense of holistic flow to the space. I knew I couldn’t do that type of work while living 4-5 states away, so I packed up and moved to Atlanta with a dollar and a dream. It took me an entire year and a half before I had the formula together well enough to create my own business titled Limitless NRG Tribe where I still hold these spaces and private events for those wanting to dive deeper into their self knowledge. The entire process was trial and error. What started off as a conversation became a practice that has impacted many lives.

Kunaga, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
For those that haven’t been aware of my journey before this article know that holistic wellness is a passion of mine. I’ve always had a broad view of the world connecting everything together in ways that would only make sense if you view things with an open heart and open mind. I grew up in a household raised by a mother with 7 siblings that grew up on a farm in Aubrey Arkansas one of the most rural counties in the US, and a father born and raised in the streets of Memphis Tennessee. I was raised in a Christian household with Muslim cousins and a father that loved all types of cultural music from Bollywood, to Jazz, to Reggeton, to Country and more. I was raised to put in work so I would often be cutting the grass at a young age and having many responsibilities that children wouldn’t typically have. My first job at 15 years old was working at Publix which is a store that prides themselves on customer service, so I learned at a young age how to communicate with others and have a listening ear. I was later trained to be a peer counselor in my high school where I would have other students confide in me personal things during private sessions and I’d empathize and aid them the best I could. I created my own clothing line in High School titled “Vision Mentality” doing fashion shows in college even winning an award for “Best Overall Freshman” my first year in college at UAB. Many accolades I received were due to my loving heart and mindset on building, creating, and networking. I worked in the music industry with some well known artists and producers which exposed me to another side of life. That made me start to get more in touch with my self and health. It wasn’t too soon where I started to go down a path I had no idea I would travel and start taking holistic wellness seriously. All these aspects of my journey allow me the space and experience to work with many individuals of all calibers and hold space in ways that impact, revitalize and rejuvenate.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
A story I feel illustrates my journey is walking down a path because you know it’s right even when you can’t see the end of it or what’s even inside it. Like I’ve stated I took a huge leap of faith and quit my temp job to move back to Atlanta and try something new. I knew I was passionate about helping others as well as myself but I didn’t know what that would look like. I didn’t have much money saved up for the move. Just enough to secure a location to stay and food to eat. Once I touched down I hit the ground running even through the tough times like having my vehicle stolen, getting into a car accident, not knowing where I would stay after moving. Keeping focus on the goal and always giving gratitude allowed me to stay in good spirits even when things were tough. Many trials and tribulations that all make the reward so much sweeter. Now the events that I host are packed out each time and they have become impactful and lucrative. This is only just the beginning.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
Before I got into the holistic wellness field I was seriously focused on making music. I had been making music professionally since 2016 and in 2019 I finally got a distribution deal that gave me a boost to keep going. After Nipsey died I worked with one of his djs and he connected me with some industry people. I felt like my music career was on a good path. As I started interning at a studio in Atlanta called “Treble Clef Studios” at the time I realized there was a lot more going on behind the scenes than I realized. It made me consider my own health and spirit when I would communicate with others that would pour their heart out to me about the ups and downs of being in the streets and making music. After a tragic accident that happened in the studio it made me reroute my life a little bit and start focusing on myself and self growth.
