We recently connected with Kshitiz Bhandari and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Kshitiz thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Often the greatest growth and the biggest wins come right after a defeat. ther times the failure serves as a lesson that’s helpful later in your journey. We’d appreciate if you could open up about a time you’ve failed.
My Journey in Wedding Filmmaking
Five years ago, I stepped into the world of videography with more passion than connections, ready to tell stories through my lens. I believed my enthusiasm would speak for itself, but instead, I was met with hesitation. People doubted me. Some wouldn’t even give me the chance to prove myself.
The first couple of years were a string of setbacks—canceled shoots, scarce bookings, and constant “no’s” that tested my resolve. But each rejection became fuel. I studied my craft relentlessly, shadowed seasoned filmmakers, and poured everything I had into even the smallest projects.
Then came a turning point—a friend’s wedding led to a cousin’s, then to a friend-of-a-friend’s. My portfolio grew, my skills sharpened, and my name began to carry weight. Soon, I wasn’t just filming weddings—I was creating cinematic keepsakes. And as my reputation grew, so did my opportunities.
Today, I run a thriving filmmaking business, capturing love stories across the country. But my lens now tells many stories—documentaries, music videos, and creative projects that push me to new heights. What started with “no one believes in me” has grown into “I believe in myself”—and that has made all the difference.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I’m Kshitiz, a filmmaker passionate about capturing stories that matter. My journey began over five years ago with a simple dream—to turn fleeting moments into timeless films. The early years weren’t easy; I faced rejection, doubt, and projects slipping away. But each “no” pushed me to refine my craft, learn relentlessly, and prove myself through sheer persistence.
I built my name in wedding filmmaking, crafting cinematic keepsakes filled with emotion and authenticity. Over time, I expanded my services to include documentaries, music videos, and other creative filmmaking projects, offering clients not just a video, but a story that resonates.
What sets me apart is my narrative approach—every shot is intentional, every cut has purpose, and every project reflects the heart of its subject. I care deeply about telling your story, and I’ll treat it as if it were my own.One of the biggest problems I solve for clients is helping them capture their story in a way that feels cinematic, unique, and emotionally engaging. Many events and projects are filmed in a flat, predictable style—but I bring a fresh perspective through storytelling and advanced techniques.
A key strength I’m known for is aerial videography using drones, which adds stunning, cinematic perspectives to my productions. Whether it’s sweeping shots of a wedding venue, breathtaking landscapes for a documentary, or dynamic overhead scenes for a music video, this aerial approach elevates the visual impact and makes each project truly stand out.
Is there mission driving your creative journey?
My mission is to tell stories that people can feel—stories that preserve life’s most important moments and inspire those who watch them. Whether it’s a wedding, a documentary, or a music video, my goal is to blend technical excellence with emotional depth, creating films that stand the test of time. I want every client to look back years from now and still feel the same emotions they did in that moment. For me, filmmaking isn’t just about recording—it’s about crafting memories, amplifying voices, and showing the beauty of life from perspectives people might otherwise miss.

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
When I first started, I invested my personal savings to buy the essential equipment I needed to get my business off the ground. It was a big leap of faith—I knew the gear was an investment in my future, even if it meant starting small. In those early days, every project I booked went straight back into the business. Bit by bit, the work I was doing—weddings, small shoots, and creative projects—helped me upgrade and expand my gear. Over time, my equipment grew alongside my skills, allowing me to take on bigger, more ambitious projects. Looking back, that gradual reinvestment was key to building not just a business, but the quality and creative freedom I have today.
